get hard plastic/rubber toys that he can't chew up......good treats are teeth cleaning chews.....they like them and they help there teeth too.........stay way from rawhide though.......it can brake off and puppies will cut their gums and/or swallow peacies.....greenies are good though.....also once in awhile treats are cookies (for dogs)......you can go to petco and they have a whole selection of treats that you can just buy a couple of.....

Chew toys are dogs favorites. You could bring a ball. Milk Bones, beef jerky for dogs is also good. Go to Wal-mart or other stores like pet-co etc. They usually like anything they can put their paws on! If you are looking for treats, make sure they say puppy on them. Adult treats can ruin their teeth.
Here is some safety tips around any dog:
Never approach an unfamiliar dog.
Never run from a dog and scream.
Stay still when an unfamiliar dog comes up to you ("be still like a tree").
If knocked over by a dog, roll into a ball and lie still ("be like a log").
Do not look a dog in the eye.
Do not disturb a dog that is sleeping, eating, or caring for puppies.
Do not pet a dog without letting it see and sniff you first.

For a puppy of this size and strength, the Kong is a great toy. It is a red chew toy that comes in different shapes and sizes and is much harder to destroy than many other chew toys. The best one for a puppy is the common "beehive" shape. When you toss it in the air, it will land and bounce in all kinds of directions. The puppy will love it! Also, for a chew toy, don't get rawhide bones. Rawhide can choke when is gets soft and wet and unwound in a puppies mouth. For a chew toy, I would recommend the hard teething bones you can find at Petsmart. They have different sizes and hardness levels for different dogs and ages.

Kong makes many toys, some specifically designed for pups. IQube toys are good, too, as they are well-constructed and fun.
Look for puppy treats, though regular "adult" treats are fine, too. You can also use small pieces (about the size of a nickel) of chicken, cheese, and hot dog for rewards for good behavior.
Since you don't have much experience with puppies, I STRONGLY recommend that you get Before and After Getting Your Puppy by Ian Dunbar. It is a small book but has lots of really good info. Follow it and this will be one terrific dog!

I say to get some chew toys because dogs love it when you throw it and they catch it and chew on it. Some treats are these bacon strips just for dogs. Hope you have fun.

I have 2 pit bull puppy's and they like tennis balls, those twist ropes they tug a war with, beef jerky treats ,and you should get him a harness because regular collars aren't good for them, and don't get chokers or pinch collars. Those dogs are so awesome.
