No that is about the normal amount of time a good breeder will offer.
That's what I offered.

While a one-year health guarantee is a start, most responsible breeders guarantee their puppies against genetic defects at least 2-3 years, and some for the life of the dog.
Many genetic problems don't always show up within the first year (for example, juvenile cataracts can appear at 18 months to 2 years, and you often can't accurately diagnose hip dysplasia until about 2 years old, when the dog is considered physically mature.
This is why -- as I said -- responsible breeders guarantee genetic health for longer than 1 year. If the breeder is only offering a 1 year guarantee on everything, you may want to look elsewhere.
Good luck!

Usually one year is good enough - you should immediately take the pup to the vet once picking it up and anything else that could go wrong probably would during the first year.
BUT if you are paying extra to get a breeding agreement so you can breed your dog, tell them you want a 2 year guarantee. When you breed, the animal must go to a Vet. School to have it's hips X-rayed and they must meet a certain standard in order to breed and be able to offer others a certain standard of dog. I believe hips are graded 1-4.
Hopefully you'll have this dog in the home with you (I don't think any should be outdoors) and even if it turned out that she could not be bred, you'd be in love with her and keep her. In that case you would want a partial refund (you pay more for a dog you can breed).
People.....everyone.....one year is a good health guarantee but please do what I did to protect your precious dog - get pet health insurance. For a minimum monthly charge you never have to worry about not having the money to help your sick or injured animal. It does not cover pre-existing conditions however so get it asap after picking up the puppy.

A one year guarantee really isn't all that good since most genetic issues don't start showing up until the age of 2. Most responsible breeders offer at least a two year guarantee. This gives the owner a chance to get testing done ...OFA/PennHip, CERF/PRA... if they wish and gives an opportunity for issues to come to light.

A one year health guarantee is wonderful.
Someone may give you a longer guarantee but would you really return a dog you have had for over two years because it got cataracts or hip problems? I couldn't, but I suppose if you want to breed your dogs it would be considered more of an issue. When I answered this question, I was only thinking of purchasing a family pet.

I haven't heard of many that go longer than that especially to someone they don't know.
These people do this professionally, they don't want to carry insurance for the you for ever.
