How do you get your puppy to get use to the leash? I heard keeping it on him around the house would work but, because I pulled him "once"only to get him to the front.I had no choice he may think it's bad now,can I still fix it?

I have a 6 month old Maltese puppy and he is so healthy. He has been to the vet and checked out and the vet said that he is a very healthy little guy. I just need to know if it is normal for them to loose there baby teeth at this age? My puppy has already lost 2.
Please help. I am a very scared mommy and i would take him to see his vet but he is closed today and the rest of the week and i was told not to take him to another vet that dosnt know anything about him.

I've found out today that my dog has worms. Ive read everywhere that tapeworms are passed by fleas, and yada yada...The vet couldnt ID the exact type of worms he has, so hes being treated for multiple kinds. I am wondering if worms can be passed to him by stepping in another dogs feces and then maybe licking his paw clean? The apartment complex I live in hasnt enforced owners cleaning up their dog poop and its everywhere! I plan on writing a letter to the management and complaining about it but want to be accurate in what I say.

I have a six month old Goldendoodle. Her parents were a Golden Retriever and a Standard Poodle, and the hybrid weight is generally around 60 lbs. Right now she weighs 30 lbs, although she is not underweight. She has had diarrhea most of the time due to worms, however. My Labrador, at the same age, was almost at his full size. I've heard that developmentally the breeds are similar; is my Goldendoodle stunted?

My female 1yr. old whippet has had vomiting and diahrea all day with no appetite, but will drink water. Her nose isn't warm, if that means anything. She's been fairly lathargic and just lays on the couch. She is normally eager to play when I get home from work, but not today. To my knowledge she hasn't consumed anything toxic.
She's up on all her shots and has been very healthy and active thus far.

I spoke to the vet and he instructed me to induce vomiting with hydrogen peroxide, which i did. She threw up treats that she ate previous to the marble but no marble. The vet instructed me to induce vomiting again and she did not vomit the next time. He then said to let it run its course and hopefully it wont get lodged in her intestines. Has anyone else had any experience. Do you think it will pass?

This is my first time having a pregnant dog. I've done lots of research but I haven't heard of the water breaking. Today is day 55 and there was a puddle of clear liquid on my floor and I could tell it wasn't water.

We had our male dachshund (2.5 years at the time) neutured in August 2006. At the end up September, he started abcessing in the area of his neuturing. We took him to our new vet (we moved out of state) and he was put on antibiotics. After a week, he continued to abcess. He underwent exploratory surgery and two interior stitches that had not dissolved yet were removed.

All was fine until January, when he started to abcess again. We took him to the vet again and he underwent a second exploratory surgery. Nothing foreign was found and three samples of the puss/blood were sent to a pathologist. After a week, the pathologist was not able to grow any bacteria or fungus, ruling those things out. Our dog is back on antibiotics, but now a week later is abcessing again. The next step is to take a tissue sample.

Has anyone ever heard of this? Our dog is otherwise behaving normally. We just want him to be healthy again. Thank you for your feedback.

I need a puppy. All the local animal shelters and places that sell are so expensive! They're like 1400 bucks! Is anyone giving away any of these breeds? In NY, NJ, or PA? Thanks for your help!

Or any hand feeding tips in general. Mine has a pretty good puppy bite, and I'd like to soften his bite response some. I've read that hand feeding a puppy can help this. My dog has a voracious appetite and devours his food normally in about 60 seconds. Any resources would be greatly appreciated.

Whenever a dog appears on screen, Coco ( My english cocker spaniel) scratches at the TV as if the dog is real.

I mean. My dog is not that dumb. He's pretty smart and he behaves pretty well. But...about the TV thing...I don't know what to do about it. I want him to feel free to watch tv but..dogs seem to appear a lot on TV...What am I suppose to do? I don't want my LCD TV to be damaged..

i am 40 years old and have been breeding American Staffordshire (PitBull) terriors since i was 15, and i have never hada mean pit out of the bunch, just because they have been givin a bad rep. All dogs have the potentcial to attack, but the only ones you ever her about are pit's and every now and then a rot. just look online and you will see hat there are lots of dogs attacking people, pits will protect you faster than any other dog, and it is not the dog it is these bad owners of themthat make them this way......................so Why do you hate pit bulls?
