Depends on your personality if your looking for a dog. such as If you don't like a hyper dog and if your not hyper I would go with a basset hound they are pretty lazy, but if you are very active and love to do things I would go with someting like a Jack russell terrier or a larger dog such as a labrador retriever which loves the water if you like the water(swimming). If you have cows or horses or any farm animal I would recommend border collies they are very active, even in the freesbie contest or any other contests. I own for 8 yrs.a full blooded labrador retriever he is excillant! stubborn but loveable. I (my husband)also own a full blooded border collie she is in chasing balls or actually anything that you throw. She also likes the water, as well as my lab, and rounding up cows and horses.

I like the Labs and the Boston Terrier's, of which I have had both. they are both smart, but the lab will calm down after it grows more than the Boston. I have my Boston in an apartment now, and he is fine there, as long as i give him good walks. My lab would not have been happy here. she is living at my mon's om 3 acres with a creek to splash around in. Both breeds are very friendly and love kids. Labs are easier to train, and get to behave. Bostons can be stubborn, and even though they might know and unerstand their commands, sometimes they choose not to obey. It is important to get a breed that will fit your lifestyle and personality.

TOY FOX TERRIERS!! They are a Terrier & Toy dog in one sweet package. Not too big, but not too small, short coated, easy to groom and forever young, curious, agile & energetic. They have a great temperament, love kids, get along with everyone & everything, can read your mind like a physic, can outsmart & catch the sneakiest rodent, love to get dirty, have very few genetic health problems and, unlike many of the larger breeds, can live to be 15 to 20 years old!! You can't go wrong with a TFT! I have 8 of them & can't imagine life without one of them!!!

Boxers. They're everything I ever wanted in a dog rolled into one body.
Everyday is a comedy, their faces portray everything they think, they love people, they're creative . . .it's just really everything about them. They're my dream dog breed. Can't find a reason not to love them (but the bored destruction and mischief try me).

I have 2 Greman Shepards and Great Danes. I like the big dogs that you can roll around and wrestle with, that if you trip over in the middle of the night you won't break...unlike those little yappy sh*ts that people think are so cute but are really evil!!!! Dogs that can and will protect you if they need to.

Mutts, 100% :D
But purebred-wise, or mixes of:
Doberman Pinschers, because they're elegant, loyal, smart, large, good guardians with proper training, and just too cute :)
And German Shepherd dogs, too.

mixed breeds because they tend to have less medical problems than full blooded dogs. full blooded dogs get alot of specific diseases, while mixed don't get as many b/c they have been bred out.
Pure breed wise i like
Australian Shepherds- smart and protective
Shelties
Pit Bulls (not all are mean, owners cause them to be mean)
Husky

Collie is beautiful, elegant and is well known as a loving, faithful family dog. It remain me of Lassie in the movie and television so loving, gentle and heart-warming.
Siberian husky is a sleek and strong dog. I like their eye color ranging from crystal blue to brown to multi-colored. Too bad I can't owned a husky due to small area and hot weather. Husky is more comfortable in cooler temperatures and they love large areas in which to roam also.
