i went through the same thing a few months ago. and it doesnt help hearing the whole " if you cant afford it..." stuff....
i serached around a lot on puppy sites and stuff. and i looked in classfieds....but if you are looking for those breeds then yours going to have to pay 300-500 for chihuahua and maltese and yorkies are anywhere from 500-1000. be careful on these sites tho cuz there are lots of fake people especially with yorkies and maltese. make sure you can see the parents and talk to the people and stuff be VERY careful.

No more then what went into each individual pup, I wouldn't be concerned on how much you can get out of an accidental liter. I would be concerned on who got the pups and how well they can take care of them. They are mutts, shouldn't be more then $50-$60 for each one to cover their shots and worming. Anymore, anyone can go to a shelter and get a mutt that has all their shots, worming and hey even spayed and neutered for majority of the time under $100! Why was that dog allowed access to your yard? Isn't it fenced in, to protect your dog from strays and such? I'm glad that she didn't die during birth, as that can happen to a lot of small breeds. I'm glad the pups were born okay, as sometimes complications do arise. I hope that the male didn't give her a dog sexually transmitted disease, as that can happen. If your yard isn't fenced in, why was your dog outside by herself where neighborhood romeos could get to her? That was irresponsible and because of that there are two puppies that may not be able to find a forever home as only 1 in 10 dogs find forever homes. I would screen each buyer, make sure they can afford to properly care for them. Don't just let anyone have them. They "expensive" mixes you see in the papers are backyard breeders. They intentionally breed mutts-never mind the statics on how many dogs are put down each year. They are *expensive* because people can be ignorant of the fact that they are overpriced mutts and not a *new breed*. They are fools and idiotic to pay more then $50-$60 for a mutt.

I am sorry to say this, but it doesn't sound like you are ready for a puppy. If you can't afford the initial cost to actually buy the pup, chances are that you can't pay the price for its food, toys, shots, and other needs.

it's not selling if it's free. -_-\\. Whatever you do, do not go to pet shops because they are overpriced for a reason. The puppies are from puppy mills that force dogs to have puppies. The best way is to adopt, they can range from 5 dollars to 100 dollars. You can adopt dogs like this from animal stores like Petco if they offer it.

If you cant afford the initial cost now, then you probably cant afford to have a dog. Shelters should be much cheper than that though, look again cause that doesnt sound right. Vet bills, vaccinations, worming tablets, food etc will cost you much more than that.
