my adopted puppy had a prolapsed rectum... i have payed 856..07 dollars worth of medical bills.. If this last "stitch" job they did doesnt work my vet said it would have to go to a larger clinic. What do i do.. i can not afford anything else.. i only have fifty bucks left cause im a college student.. the surgery wouldd be like 500 and i cant afford it. what can i do..

First, ask your vet if he or she will work with you. Some vets, knowing how much you've already spent on the dog, will donate the additional surgery, or at least cut you a break in the price. At the very least, they may be able to work with you on a payment plan. If they won't work with you, call around and explain your situation and see if you can get another vet to assist. Also, look for teaching hospitals in your area that will offer great discounts.

You can also look into something like Care Credit (http://www.carecredit.com/), which can be used to pay vet bills. Also consider purchasing pet insurance to cover future costs. Make sure to read the policy carefully, though!
