My 10 month old small breed puppy does not seem to have as much energy as she use to. She eats pretty well and goes to the bathroom regularly. I know she is not sick. Is there a natural way to boost her energy or any way to get her more excited about life?

When I go out for a night of drinking I don’t hold back. However, this past weekend I became so intoxicated I was disoriented. Even worse, I had no perception where I was and almost got hit by a car. The bars I go to are pretty much in a 5 to 10 block range and I always walk. So my question is where can I buy or rent a Seeing Eye dog to bring out with me to the bars and most importantly guide me safely home?

I have an apricot poodle and im scared he is going to turn white. I bought him because his color is similar to the poodle I recently lost. I don't want him to turn white because white is not my preference. I've only had him for two days but he already knows me and I like him a lot. But will he turn white? My toy poodle of 15 was apricot and never turned white but I dont know what color his parents were. But since my new poodle mom is white, he will probably turn white right? Tell me what you think. Thanks!

We are trying to decide if we want to get a dog right now. What are some considerations that may have been overlooked? What things do you wish you would have given more thought to?

I am wanting to get a pomapoo puppy. They are really cute and my vet said they are known to have the best of poodles (non shedding) and pomeranians (personallity and loyalty). I want to know what we will need to bring him home? What is the average time it takes to get a puppy housetrained? If we have the puppy neutered at 6 months will that prevent him from marking and help with potty training? Also, about how long will it take for the puppy to get used to our routine and its new home? Also we have an inside cat and my husband has to labs outside. We had our labs neutered and they do not mark. Also, has anyone gotten a puppy that already has a slightly jealous cat? I just wanted some advice on how she will do with a new dog.

I currently have a 10 month old jack russell and she is the best dog. I would love to get another one eventually. I was just wondering how long you waited before getting a second one. Also, any positive or negative experiences you have had after bringing the second one into the house. Thanks!!

I got my dog from a shelter back in December 2006,
unknown background, but he had a dirty, grimy collar on- which makes me believe he was left outside most of his life.
When i first got him he displayed dog aggression, but also very good behaviors such as sitting on command and walking on a leash well- submissive.
Now, i've discovered other problems such as aggression when you try to lift him or roll him over, also when being held down he over reacts with intense screaming. (at the vet)
I'm pretty sure he must've been abused, because he has no tolerance with children or adults- which frightens me. for example, he's displayed fearful aggression when a friend's child accidentally
stepped on his tail- he instantly turned around and leaped in her face- he didn't bite thankfully, it looked as if he thought she was attacking him, which i think is common around scarred dogs or unsocialized dogs.
I hope that's enough insight, what can i do to help him be less nervous, or is it even possible?

He keeps getting out of his collar on the chain in the yard. I got him a new one, and he acts fine. When he comes in the house his hair is in the formation of his new collar. I have heard if you can fit four fingers between his neck and the collar it's ok but my fingers or a man's fingers?

Lately my dog has stopped eating his food. He just picks out a few of the pieces and throws them around the house. He use to eat it so it's not that he doesn't like it. Wondering if anyone knows what could be wrong?

Our puppy is not able to leave his mom until March 16... so we cant have him until then... but what is the best way to introduce the two dogs? We don't want our puppy to be hurt... How long (days, weeks) do you think (from expierence) will it take for dogs to get used to each other?

I am buying a Siberian husky and I am getting one dog for free. I am not sure if a small dog and Siberian husky will get along. The previous owner of the husky told me that Huskies play rough. But, because the dog is going to be alone a lot during the days, I have to give the Husky a buddy to play with. Could you give me your truly honest opinions and informational details?

I used to have akitas and they were the sweetest most loyal, beautiful dogs i have ever been around. Quiet too. Yet on several other yahoo answers questions, people mentioned they would never own one because they've been known to bite, well i've never seen an akita attack or even become threatening without provacation (ie threats against self or master) and even so they are very good about warning before striking. They are aggresive against small animals, but that goes back to their wolf-like nature and lineage and can even be modified when young. Another poster said they lived in aparment building and the akita barked at everything, again I've never seen an akita bark unless there was something to bark about.

so what is with all the misinformation and bad reputation that are spread aboujt akitas?

I have an Airedale who I love dearly. He's a very good dog 98 percent of the time but when I scold him for doing something bad, he rolls over on his back.

Why is he doing this? Is this odd behavior?

Yesterday my puppy (4 months) had a really full day. We went to the park for an hour in the morning, then on a medium length walk, and then that night she had her first lesson at puppy obedience school. Today, she was super sleepy in the morning when she's usually hyper, even though we came down 1.5 hours late. Also, the rest of the day, she's hasn't remained awake for more than two hours or so without going back to sleep. When we let her out she just lays there even though usually she jumps around and plays with her toys. Otherwise she seems healthy, she ate a little less at breakfast and dinner, but otherwise fine. Do you think she's just tired out from yesterday or could she be sick?

I have a chihuahua that has several medical problems but I just can't afford it's care anymore. It's gotten too expensive and I don't want to neglect it's condition. I don't want to take it to a shelter or pound because I don't want it put down if they can't find a home for it. I live in Ventura so anything within the county or in Santa Barbara county will do nicely. If there's a place in LA county I'd even be willing to drive there too. I just need a place that can care for or find a willing family that can afford to care for it.

My puppy stayed over the weekend at a friend's house, mine is 7 months, hers is about 9, she told me that they played a lot but the night she came back home she hardly got up, she didn't play, she is just a different dog, plus I think her rear hurts. She usually is playful in the morning, these last 2 mornings she gets up and then goes back to her bed. She is just a different dog, she is not playful, as she usually is, I don't know what is wrong with her.
