I think dogs do get lonely and bored when left home for so many hours. When you come home take her for a walk and she will always have that to count on. If you develop a routine of always walking her before you leave and when you come home it will help even more. Dogs like exercise, it means more to them than even affection or playing games.

Dogs do get lonely and they feel sad. Whatever you do, don't get another dog just because of this. Been there, done that...It doesn't work. No dog can replace you. I work full time as well but when I get home I talk to my dog and pet him and give him hugs and I think that suffices for all the time missed. He sleeps all day anyway. Just remember, you may be very busy, but he has been waiting ALL DAY for you to get home, so when you do get home, give him some love. He will be ok.

yes she most likely does get lonely. We don't leave our dog alone for more than 2 or 3 hours at a time but when we do (for the few hours) we put on the TV "likes to watch animal shows best" and that seems to keep him content while we are out. Sometimes a radio helps as well. If more than a few hours he goes to the sitters.

I'm sure that she does but I have two dogs who spend long hours in their kennel while I am at work. When I get home and before I leave in the morning we play, work on training and cuddle. I try to give them excersize by walking in the morning and at night so they can sleep in their kennels while I am away. Even though they do not share a kennel I think that it helps them to play with one another when they are out and now they know the routine and wake me up at the same time every morning and they are excited and energized to play and when it is time to go in their kennels they willingly go in and lay down. The first few days that I had them they would constantly cry when in their kennels but now they are comfortable in their own "dens".

awww I wouldn't think that your dog is mad at you but I'm sure she is lonely during the day and when you come home, she is really glad to see you. Even if I stay with my puppy all day during weekends but when his daddy (my bf) comes home after work my puppy goes crazy!!!
I think you should look into toys that will occupy him for a long time. Kong, greenies...etc. Also leave him many toys. But most likely your puppy will sleep most of the time. My puppy sleeps at least 4-5 hrs during the day, plus 8 hrs at night.

Yes your dog gets very lonely. I suggest you get a dogsitter, get another dog to keep him company or drop your dog off at a friend's house who has a dog.

Yes, dogs get lonely. They are pack animals. Get a friend to come by and let her out while you're gone, excercise her and play with her. Or, if you can, get a good petsitter.
