Ok, my dog is a lhaso apso. I'm just wondering if she has asthma because she likes to run around and when someone comes in the house, she runs around and jumps all over them. Then, after a while, she starts wheezing and coughing sounding like she's going to through up. It sounds just like my friend's coughs and wheezing, who has asthma, and I'm just worried...any help??

I have a 10 month old pit bull puppy (weighs about 65 lbs and pure muscle.) I've been feeding him Science Diet puppy (dry with a little canned SD puppy for flavor). But he seems to have a sensitive digestive system and is easily prone to diarrhea. I've been told this is not the best food. Can anyone recommend a better one?

We have seen two reputable vets. x-rays and cultures were taken from this shepard mix. However, no growth or infection was discovered. He did not react to over 5 different medications, including some in regard to allergies. We have completed the home checklist of allergies (bedding and food). Yet, the only solution provided was a 1,200 MRI. Any other ideas in regard to what could be the problem. THANKS

My mother and I were watching a show that went through the process of dog grooming and they had a step on the show that was about "popping poop" or removing excess liquid poop from the dogs butt, b/c apparently this step in the grooming process in important to the dogs health so that they don't get infections or illnesses. The real question is if this really happens when a dog goes to the groomers. I have a shih tzu, who is 7months old, and she has never been to the groomers yet and my mother just wanted to make sure that it was a safe process of the whole poop thing, even if it is or isn't true. Please answer to the best of your knowledge.

I know this is such a weird question and I know I may have worded it wrong, but I hope we just get some answers!

Thanks!

Please help! My dog Max, a 5-year-old (we guess - shelter dog!) neutered male, has started having these episodes where he starts drooling like crazy (at first it was foamy, but now it's just drool), and leans against me and doesn't move while he's drooling. i read that beneful (which we have been feeding him almost exclusively since we got him in december) causes allergies in dogs because it's made of crap.
could this possibly be the cause of max's problem? we've been to the vet and she is going to test him for epilepsy, but also suggested we discontinue the beneful when i told her that the spells happen shortly after he's eaten.
i love my little buddy, and i wouldn't be feeding him something that would hurt him if i'd known!!! i thought beneful was a good food, but reading what's been said, i think i'm wrong. can someone tell me if the food could be causing his drooling problem? before this started, he never was much of a drooler at all.

my dog cries alot and whine whenever i leave to get the mail or leave a room. When u talk to him he acts like he is gettin beatin. I gurantee that dog has never been beatin of yelled at. I got him when he was 2 weeks old. He was taken away from his mother too early. The people that i got him from had too many dogs. 2 weeks after he was born another dog they had, had pups so he was put outside. One week after i got him his sister died.(they were out in the cold) He had no sink on his tail (now he has some)
So why do yall thimk he cries and whines alot?

I have a lab and the bottom of her paws always smells like old dirty socks and that smell clings onto the carpets. Does anyone else have that problem?

She is left in the garage with her bed, toys, chew sticks, radio on but the howling and barking is continuous

I have a Lab/Pointer mix, who is 7-8 yrs old. I have had her for two years, and as far as I know the previous 5 years she was treated well (aside from being left alone way too much), although I have no idea if she had any traumatic experiences as a puppy. She is well trained, happy and obedient.

Last night she had what seems obvious to me to have been a seizure. She moved close to me as if she were frightened (we were watching a loud scene in a movie at the time, so at first I didn't think anything of it). A moment later I put my hand on her to comfort her, and she was still shaking. I looked at her closely and realized she was tense all over, her paws contorted and digging into the rug, breathing abnormally and foaming/salivating heavily.

She has an appointment at the vet to have bloodwork done, and is due for her annual, anyway. As far as I know she has no history of seizures. Is this an isolated incident, or could she have epilepsy develop now?

My dog has a very dry nose. It is crusty and almost scaly. It also looks as though he has some mucus that clumps up on the outside. I am just looking for some ideas. I do plan on taking him to the vet but money is tight and it doesn't seem to bother him at all so I am waiting for the time being.

my adult chihuahua/yorkie mix is 5 pounds, and has really dry, flaky skin. no matter what shampoo/conditioner i use (and believe me, ive tried better stuff than i us on my hair, from pert, to organic deep cleansers!), he still has chronic dandruff! ive tried blow drying to(he hated it!), but no result, except that he was huffy with me! i try to brush him ot as much as possible, but nothing works. i like him to look clean and showy-like, but the flakes of skin ruin the effect. HELP!

My neighbors just adopted a new dog about 1 month ago. He doesn't look full grown yet, but not a small puppy either. They leave him outside all day, and from what I can see (there is a 6 ft privacy fence seperating our yards) he has no shelter. He is outside in the rain and the cold all alone and he cries and howls and scratches on the door all the time. And everytime I go outside with my 2 dogs, he tries to get through the fence to play with them, like he is excited for the company. I think He is let back inside in the late evening and over night. I don't know if he has food or water. Is this neglect, and who do I call to report it? I feel in my gut that this is very wrong...
