I'd go with guide and assistance/service dogs for people with disabilities. There is a very famous canine assistance company in Atlanta Georgia USA (http://www.canineassistants.org) where they train Golden Retreivers to turn lights on and off, open and close doors, pulling wheelchairs, retrieving dropped objects, summoning help, and providing companionship. There are also some that are trained due to an ability to detect seizures before they even happen. Very fascinating! Good luck!

Samoyeds have such a fascinating history and legacy of tradition. You'll find a lot of information on them, and they are known as one of the most "pure" of the pure-bred dogs (they are most akin to primitive dogs - no admixture of wolf or fox runs in the Samoyed strain - unlike that of almost all other modern dogs). Good luck!
