Shes old and over weight, please help!!! Also, how do I get her to take the ball?

There are some dogs that just don't have an interest in taking a ball or fetching a ball - that said, you can shape a forced retrieve with most dogs, but it's not going to be a FUN game for the dog.

Basset hounds don't like to play fetch. They like to watch other dogs play fetch. From a laying down position. And they like their treats brought to them. Throw in old and overweight and you have one doorstop of a dog.
I love basset hounds. Especially their howls. Just take a load off, lay down and put your head on him and gaze out into nothing, like he does.
