We have seen two reputable vets. x-rays and cultures were taken from this shepard mix. However, no growth or infection was discovered. He did not react to over 5 different medications, including some in regard to allergies. We have completed the home checklist of allergies (bedding and food). Yet, the only solution provided was a 1,200 MRI. Any other ideas in regard to what could be the problem. THANKS

Have you tried changing his food. My golden retriever has terrible allergies, we even ended up taking her to a Vet Dermatologist (didn't know they existed prior to my regular vet sending us) -- this was due to us going through numerous tests etc. with her regular Vet. She is on a Rice and Venisen food that we have to buy from the Vet, they do not sell it in Pet Stores. This has helped to alleviate her symptoms., Try giving her unseasoned boiled chicken and rice for a week and nothing else (no snacks - etc.) and see if it helps. If so, you may want to think about switching her food.

Has your vet checked for kennel cough? That is what it sounds like to me. A dog can sneeze and snot on normal levels (our dog sneezes when he gets up in the morning everyday however doesn't have an allergy). I would also suggest checking out when he is sneezing. For instance, maybe you need to change the sleeping arrangement if he is sneezing a lot more than normal then maybe you need to change the location of where he is sleeping. Or, it could be that there is cold/warm air blowing on your dog throughout the day which would make him have this issue just like in humans. I would chart when he is sneezing the most and etc to take to your vet - it could be something that no one is thinking about that has an easy solution.

Do you use any kind of air freshener powder that you sprinkle on the carpet? I used to have a friend who's dog sneezed green snot all its life. I can't remember the name of the condition but there was no cure or medication. The dog did live until the ripe old age of sixteen though.

Go to a vet school that has a small animal clinic. That way you have several different specialists look at your dog, and they may come up with something the vets you went to didn't.

My mom's dog was having the same issue and ended up having congestive heart failure or something like that. Have the vets checked her heart?

Allergys, try some Benedryl. Ask the Pharmacist for the dosage.

hhhmmm....have the vets actually looked up his nose with a microscope? To see if there is a seed or something up there? I had a dog that had a seed stuck and it eventually caused a bloody nose.
