Dogs are not built for any weight bearing on their backs.. NONE at all..the backpackers would put saddlebags on their dogs, so that the dog could carry their own supplies..and they thought that was so neat...but, alas, those dogs developed major spinal and leg joint problems all too soon..

About 20 years ago I had a huge Black Lab named Jack.Every once in a while I'd sit on him and let him carry me 4 or 5 steps .He loved it.He lived 15 years .I'm 6'2" 230 lbs.

no but we used my 90lb Rhodesian ridgeback (a desert dog) to pull me on a sled when I was little, I weighed around 35-40lb at the time.

When I was 2 - 4 years old, our golden retriever didn't mind us being put on her back--but we lacked the balance to actually ride around on top of her.

about 23 pounds???
i was reallyyy young. i wouldn't ride a dog unless your still a small toddler or baby.
but its fun!

my little sis she rode our Brittany Spaniel she weighed 24 lbs

Dogs aren't horses... They aren't made for that and can be severely hurt!
