He is a Schnoodle and about 9 months old, potty trained and tells me when he wants to go outside. He isnt fixed yet, but we plan on it, im not sure if that will help the problem or not. He is expecially afraid of my husband because he is the one who scolds him when he does something wrong (like peeing on our new carpet). Another thing is he is very submissive, and we have kindof taught him to be that way, because we want him to know that we are the boss. He is fine all day with me when my husband is at work but when he comes home he will stay really close to the ground and sneak over even when i call him. My husband isnt mean to him (though unfortunatly it sounds that way), but it seems that my dog is permenently afraid of him and pees all over everything whenever my husband calls him or walks by him or even pets him. Also it kindof comes out in squirts. Im not sure whats wrong with him or how to get him to stop but please someone help i dont want to have to get rid of him!!

my 10 mo. old pitbull girl has developed a rash on her head, she itches at it and it develops into little scabs and bumps that bleed. the itching also causes her hair to fall out. I washed her with medicated shampoo (chloridex , i think was the name but i don't remember exactly) but it didn't seem to help, it might have accually made it worse. It shouldn't be mange because she's on monthly revolution which guards against sarcopic mange. any ideas?

Besides working at pet store or breeding dogs, I was wondering if anyone worked with dogs as a career and what types of professions they are involved in.

My two dogs, Pomeranians, 8 and 9 months old are making me lose my mind. This just started recently, as I would fall asleep, throughout the night time, they would chew up everything and anything. For example, at least 3-5 times a week, they would take their wee-wee pad from the kitchen, bring it to the living room and destroy it into tiny little pieces. Due to the cotton inside the wee-wee pad, it's very hard to vacuum. I tried pinning the wee-wee pad with heavy objects, but they pull it from underneath. Just last night, they chewed up a phone charge! I mean, I guess I can hide things that are chewable, but what's next, couch? shoes? I don't have to hide things from my babies, I just want them to know that this isn't permitted. They also have hundreds of toys, from stuffed ones to bones, for them to chew on. Why do they consider to destroy my house and personal belongings?

My neighbours 2 boxers never shut up they bark constantly and its really driving me insane, i just dont think I can put up with it much longer, they allow them to bark and dont try to stop it, im too much of a chicken to say anything to them i'd be afraid incase they told me to f off or something, I dont really want to go down the route of reporting them to environmental health but I just dont know what else to do, I have spoke to some of my other neighbours and they cant stand it either, its just constant bloody barking from about 11am to about 6pm

Please dont tell me to confront my neighbour as I really cant do it

seriously, my dog poops more than any dog i've ever known. i feed him iams, so it can't be due to poor quality dog food. in the span of about a 45 minute walk, he will poop at least three times. i've known dogs his age (he's 1 yr old) and younger that poop once, maybe twice, a day. my vet says as long as it's not diarrhea (sp?), he should be fine. any ideas from anyone with similar experience?

My dog has epilepsy, the medication from the vet is not very good! I recently read about a girl with severe epilepsy who was treated with Vitamin B.
Apparently the fits stopped almost straight away! Does anyone know if Vit B would work on dogs?
Serious answers please!

Just a few minutes ago I was removing my rescued 1 year old saints collar for a bath - we never made it to the tub. I got as far as the "click" of the removal before he literally lost his mind. He didn't bite me - he just became very excited and toppled all over me, giant paws up and he slapped at my hands. He immediatley went to battle with him about putting it back on, and after a few minutes of proving I no longer had it and it was back on his neck, he went to go lay down. What the heck happened and how do I get that thing off him in the future?

If you knew of a 1 year old dog that wasn't wanted, spent most of its time in the garden by itself and you suspected it was being badly treated would you take it in yourself? I have been told that they are getting rid of it but I worry about the kind of person they'll give it to and its really playing on my conscience. The only thing is I work full time. Is it fair to take in this dog when i'm not going to be there during the day?

Reporting to the RSPCA is not an option because there are no signs of neglect as such. It's just a gut feeling and I really bonded with this dog!!!

I believe my dog [Golden Retriever: 11 months] gets bored a lot, because my mother wont allow him inside. He has his own beautiful home with AC (in case it gets hot). Has a fence and is not always allowed to run around in the garden, because our maids and people passing by get scared of him. So, how can i keep him entertained with something? You know like something to keep him busy in his home. Other than a kong? I buy him toys but he loses interest in them. I want something that makes him ^o^ (makes his ears go up). Would you people suggest that's good to keep him entertained/busy ?

I just adopted a 3 month old puppy from a shelter, and trying to crate train her. Obviously she's had a hard start in life, and crates are not her idea of a peaceful place. Any ideas on how I can accomplish this? I've tried treats inside, toys, a comfy soft pillow, and nothing seems to work, she barks and whines loudly, and continuously.

He is a 8 soon to be 9 year old dachshund and obsessed with food! When he is in the kitchen, his only concern is getting what we are eating but thats not the problem. The problem is I tried to teach him to sit and give me his paw but he was too concerned about the carrot I had behind my back. How do I teach him to do this?

Last Friday my 8 yr old rat terrier/beagle mix got into the trash, ate a bunch of stuff, puked twice etc. Monday he got a steak bone from our dinner, ate most of it. I don't know exactly when it started, but maybe Wed or even Tues, he "heaves" or breathes hard, like backwards? He sucks air in his nose and acts like he can't breathe. He does this randomly (not like after drinking which our 6hr old Chihuahua always has). He has done it maybe 4 times a day. Is this a collapsed trachea? How did it happen? Or does he have part of that steak bone stuck somewhere?

I have a 3mo Great Pyrenees Puppy, who's mouthing habits are making me scared. I understand puppies are teething and are going to nip, but they have turned into biting and lounges at the face, or continuous biting of the hands when we try to show her affection.
She's aready a huge dog, so the biting cannot continue...we "yelped" & gave her toys, we've tried walking away and ignoring her but she's started to bite our legs. We tried pinching her mussle, but that doesn't phase her and we've tried squirting a water bottle and saying "no" but theres no stopping her. Are there any Cesar Millan's out there that can help us?

A friend of mine gave me an American Bull Dog-Rottweiler hybrid (in other words, a huge mutt, lol). Although I just wanted the pup because I wanted a large dog in my new house for a guardian, and I wanted a walking buddy, I now have a few people pressuring me to "create a new breed". I'm not really interested in this, and plan on getting the dog neutered when he turns six months old (he's 9 weeks old right now). My partner thinks we should try breeding him (he's been listening to the other people)since we're experienced in handling large dogs, but I disagree. I say there's enough so called "hybrids" that don't get adopted as it is. I'm suspicious of the motives of hybrid clubs, and have a feeling that the clubs are only there to create "designer dogs" and help breeders make a lot of money off of mutts. Has anybody tried breeding hybrids, and if so, how did it go? I seriously doubt I'll do it, I just wanted a big dog, & now I'm having people suggest I try cross-breeding.

I'm trying to gauge how big my boxer cross pup will get, his Mom was a 35 lb Pomimo (pomeranian/Eskimo) and his Dad was 70ish lb purebred boxer. He's 25 lbs now at 4 months so I'm looking for other dogs' weight gains between 4 months and 1 year to give me a better idea.

thanks.

i have two dogs, rusty and lucky. rsuty is so well behaved, he never does anything wrong. he stares right at you and listens to you, and loves you so much! but last night i gave him a bit of chocolate icecream, and when he eats chocolate even a little bit, he lays diffferent, like lifeless almost, and i worry. so i wont give him the choc. anymore... but lucky! i remember being a kid and selling choc. candy bars at school, and i left them out one day and when i came home he had eaten every single one, and there were like 20! he's still kickin and he's like 12. i have never seen any evidence other than rusty lookin like he feels sick. i wonder if they just like it a whole bunch and thats why we dont give it to them, cause we're mean?

We adopted Annie from a shelter 2 weeks ago. She is a 4 month old lab/australian shepherd mix. She's very sweet and smart as a whip about everything except peeing. I assume it's because she was in a kennel for 6 weeks straight, but she has no aversion to peeing in her crate. Everything I've read says she will not soil where she sleeps....not this dog....she couldn't care less. She does pee every time we go out and I praise her and give her treats, but she also pees whenever she wants indoors especially at night. I'm going back to work in a week and I was hoping we'd be much farther along in housebreaking. Help!
