i have a westie, he nows how to sit nd how to lift his poor,?

bt i carnt seem to tach him hoe to lay down, stay annd !! lol !! play dead lol, PLZ CAN YOOH HELP MEH

hi hun , all dogs have different learning capabilities & some take longer to learn . Ive taught all my dogs to do these with small treats & nothing more. Learn your dog 1 trick/skill at a time & make sure they have learnt it well before starting a new one, To lie i got my dogs to sit 1st , (im sat on the floor with them by the way ) then i would say the her name before each command & the same words for it all the time & not change this would be obviously " sox lie down " & point to the floor & if she didnt have a clue i would slowly lower her legs , once she was down i would say lie down again & reward with a small treat & plenty of praise . I would do this for 5 minutes but 3-4 times a day only. continuous of this your dog will ignore or become bored. i used dog choc buttons & broke them in half for each treat . so not overloading her . Some dogs are stubborn & may take longer to learn some are just down right thick but they too can be taught will patience. you need to get the dogs attention all the time & be confident so they know you mean it & that your boss not them. Yes, treats! Treats! and more Treats!

I also use hand commands along with verbal. The first thing my dog learned was to sit up so everytime she see's a treat, she sits up. If we want her to do something else, she gets confused unless I use the hand commands also.

Be patient though. It might take awhile with westies. That's what I have.
