Besides working at pet store or breeding dogs, I was wondering if anyone worked with dogs as a career and what types of professions they are involved in.

There is the veterinarian, dog groomer, dog trainer, show dog handler, and animal welfare specialist. There are also people that own dog boarding kennels. There are also doggy daycares that people work in, where you care for the dog during the day while the owner is at work. Some people train their dog for rescue work, like avalanche rescue and search and rescue. There are others who train their dog for narcotics detection, and may work at an airport or place like this.

If you're interested in any of these, I'd recommend doing some further research on them.
