We adopted Annie from a shelter 2 weeks ago. She is a 4 month old lab/australian shepherd mix. She's very sweet and smart as a whip about everything except peeing. I assume it's because she was in a kennel for 6 weeks straight, but she has no aversion to peeing in her crate. Everything I've read says she will not soil where she sleeps....not this dog....she couldn't care less. She does pee every time we go out and I praise her and give her treats, but she also pees whenever she wants indoors especially at night. I'm going back to work in a week and I was hoping we'd be much farther along in housebreaking. Help!

Sorry to hear that she's so confused. Do you have bedding in there? Dogs prefer to pee on porous surfaces so take any bedding out of her crate. There's also a chance that her crate may be too big for her.
Keep up with giving treats when she pees outside, and you may have to put her drinking water on a schedule, too. Have you checked with your vet for a possible UTI?
