My 2 year old american bulldog has all of a sudden started acting soooooooo strange!! The dog next door recently went into heat, and my dog has just turned into a different dog! All he wanted to do was stay outside, and howl at the fence, stopped eating, and stopped even wanting to have much to do with us. He has also started to mark his territory in the house which is something he has never done. He has also started to act very irritated with my child, who has been his best friend his whole life. I havent had him neutered yet because I thought he was just such a great dog, and I was afraid it would some how change him.............but now, he needs to change his behavior for himself and all of us too!!! So I guess my question is, will neutering him help him with all of these new behaviors, and will he become our sweet big baby again????

Thanks!!!

He is 11 years old, and a very sweet loving dog. Until food gets involved and others are around that he feels threatened by. Including myself just tonight. I need to put him in his place and change his behavior.

I opened a business and I need some advice. If you were dealing with a place that did grooming, behavioral training, counselling and behavior modifications for your pet no matter what species, what would you look for? How much would you want to pay? what services and or problems would you want help with? And what advice would you give?

Not sure exactly what she's mixed with yet. But she definitly has beagle in her.

She's my new foster I took in today. And, she hates her crate. She is scared too...which I understand. But she barks THE WHOLE TIME in her crate.

I praise her when she's quiet in there, then she's back at it, I think because I gave her attention and she wants more of it.

And she can jump and climb baby gates, so is very hard to keep her quarantined in 1 small room.
Any advice on crate training her. All my other fosters werent nearly this bad in the beginning, and now I have found my match, lol

In the description for the Heartgard Plus heartworm prevention chewables, it said that it's safe for Collies and Collie mixes, but if you scroll down further it says "use with caution in Collies". I'm confused...is it safe for my Border Collie or not with the correct dosage?

It really upsets me to see a dog chained up and never get to go inside. My dog has the run of the house and even though we have to tether her when she is outside the tether is much longer than most people use. We also don't leave her outside if she wants in or if we are away.

I went on a cruise (2 1/2 week vacation) and left my dog in my backyard with plenty of food, water and shelter. My neighbors were supposed to take care of her while we were gone like they usually do but they ended up leaving their house a day after us because a close relative of theirs died 2 states away so they went to see the family. I came home and she was famished and parched so we fed her back to health... but for some reason her fur is absolutely filthy. We never had this problem before when we leave so it was unexpected. What would be the best kind of brush to comb her ratted fur out with and what's the best shampoo to use when I bathe her?

p.s. Don't worry, we didn't pay the family that we expected to take care of her one cent...

I have a miniature doberman pinscher. I am about to have a baby in about a week. My dog likes to climb into the bottom of the baby's bassinet and sleep. I am afraid that he may accidentally tip it over with the baby inside. How do I keep him from getting in there?

But I got a Pom puppy a couple years ago, and he died of parvo the first week I got him... So after much worry I thought it was time that I could get another...

Now he is sleeping sleepingggggg!!
I just thought pups were more playful then sleepy/
Should I be worried or is this normal...
He got his shots and everything, the vet said he is neg for parvo. But I know theres an incubation period...
I dont know if I could go on if another one of my pups get parvo...

Do you have a seberian husky?
What do you love about your seberian husky and what do you dislike about your dog?
Please brag about him if you want...

P-s...is he likely to run away from you?.. Can you train him young to be off a leach without him running away? Have you trained him off leach?

thx
