It sounds like 'reverse sneezes'. That's what a vet told my daughter when her Border Terrier was making weird kinda asthma breathing sounds. But please take your pooch to the vet and have him checked out!

I agree it sounds like a reverse sneeze. The beagle that I had for 13 years would get those too. Don't worry that's not what she died from. I always felt bad for her cuz it didn't look or sound good. :( But she was always ok after wards. But I would take your little dog to the vet just to make sure that's all it is! ;)

This is called reverse sneeze syndrome. If this is only a once in in awhile affair you shouldn't be worried but if it is very regular then you need to contact your vet. The reverse sneeze syndrome can last from 10 sec up to 2 min. The normal is under 20 sec. If they starts vomiting or jerking in a seizure like motion when he is doing this contact your vet.

A lot of little dogs do wierd stuff like this but it is always best to ask your vet. Some dogs do get asthma, believe it or not.

If it almost sounds like a sneeze, it may be a reverse sneeze, or if it sounds like a hicup, dogs can get them like humans

The Chihuahua "honk". It's perfectly normal for the breed. They often do it when excited.
