put yourself in this scenario. you are trapped small room surround by some huge rats, not only are they big but they carry some nasty diseases and they haven't ate for 1 whole week. theres like 100 of them inside the room and u walk in and the door is closed....will the rats attack you? and eat you?

What do you think is the best dog to have?
I have a cat (8months) and another dog (7 years old)... I'm looking for a new addition to the family and I would like to know what breed is the best one (u think) and why.
I also want an affectionate dog , not a independant one. A dog that likes attention and that loves sleeping with you and is protective, that kind of stuff.

my dog used to chew and tear up EVERYTHING when she was a little puppy...like all dogs do im sure, but she stopped...now she just turned 2 [and she's HUGE] and she's started back again...she chews 2 shreds my mom's shoes, my stuffed animals, and takes trash out of my trash can and scatters it all over the living room...any idea y she's picked up this bad habit again??? and how can i get her 2 stop???

My dog constantly bites her nails. She never bites them enough to make herself bleed, but she enjoys chewing on them when she is bored and ALWAYS just before she goes to sleep for the night. She will always stop for about a minute when someone puts thier hand on her, or starts to pet her.

I was curious if this may be a medical issue or just a compulsive behaviour.... any ideas?

she get a bath once a month, sometime I 4get so 2 months. Anyway, I use HYDRA PEARLS Rehydrating Shampoo soap free, and I did change her food 2 Science Diet Sensitive Skin and give her omega 3 capsol, but flakes come back off and on. her coat looks nice, but skin still dry, she don't scratch at all and she play like nothing is wrong. no flea and tick problems so far, she's a in house dog, my yard is the most she gos, but the cats run up and down the alley, so that's when she get sores on her paws. I use peroxide and neosporin ointment, she do lick it off. yes she gos once a year to the vet or if there is a problem. I need to know if these things that I'm doing is right, or it just take a long time for them to work .

Before anyone starts trash talking, this wasn't my dog. It was my brothers and I personally think he should have taken it to the vet months ago, but my brother never would. This dog was a blue heeler. For the past year my husband and I have both thought it had mange, because its fur was falling out and it had sores on its body. It stopped eating a few days ago. One eye was kinda glazed over and the right side of its face was paralized. Well, it died some time last night. I know my brother won't have any testing done on its body, since obviously he wasn't overly concerned with its health before it died. Any suggestions for what this could have been?

And before anyone suggests that I call animal control to report him, we don't have one. We live in a small country town, and the local sheffifs department will not "waste" time dealing will reports of animal abuse. I have heard it before from them.

My friends (well most of 'em) are terrified of my dog. And she really is nice. She comes in a little strong though. Like she pushes right into you and jumps up and down. But she's just happy! How do I make my dog calm down, or just get my friends to know this is only because she never sees them? (She acts perfectly normal when it's just my family.) I try telling them that this is not the real her, but they're still running for the show we were watching downstairs after we grab a snack. I feel like my dog might think that we're running off to play without her.



I would perfer an answer of how to calm my dog, I don't think my friends can really stop being scared of her as long as she is jumping up and down.


And don't say get a trainer because... well... already tried that. Didn't do a thing!

I have 2 Enlgish Bulldogs that I've had since they were pups. Both girls are spayed now and 3 & 4 yrs old. They used to be best of friends and now they hate one another. We are at wits end and have tried everything to prevent them from fighting and finally had to separate them in different parts of the house. It is very difficult to always be on our toes and quick enough to shut the door before a fights begins. Both girls are given equal amounts of attention and love so we know that is not the problem but don't know what is. We don't want to part with either dog but know that if we don't get the problem solved we will eventually have to before someone gets hurt in the midst of a battle. Any and All advise will be appreciated.
