While each individual dog can be slightly different, there is no difference to speak of regarding how much these three color variations would shed. All dogs shed some year round just like humans lose hair daily, dogs just have a lot more hair so they lose a lot more. Even wire coated dogs and poodles shed some.

I have a yellow and he sheds a great deal but I know that several black Labs that shed just as much. I honestly do not think it is a statement you make that general. I worked with Labs of all colors for years and I know the yellow hair shows up more, like it is more noticeable because of color. The black and chocolate blends in better. But I do not think that the color makes the difference.

All long haired dogs shed constantly. And since their hair is so much longer that the short haired dogs, you notice it way more. When the weather changes from cold to cool and then to warm, they shed like crazy for a couple of weeks or sometimes more.
Now something to think about though, is if the dog sheds a large amount during the winter months or you begin to notice thin/bald patches, it's not getting a healthy diet and it may also have a mild form of mange.
Even short haired dogs shed year round, just like humans, but irregular amounts and times of the year, usually indicate a health problem.

All dogs are different and shed differently, but it shouldn't be excessive. Try feeding your dog a higher protein diet, Innova is a good brand that I've personally had good luck with. Even brands like Iams use corn as a filler and that's what tends to make dogs shed. I have a long(er) haired border collie and don't have hardly any problems with shedding.
You could also try something called dinovite, it's a supplement you add to their food daily and it helps with everything from shedding to bad breath, etc... www.dinovite.com

It depends on how healthy the dog is. Just because the dog is a different type doesn't mean it sheds more or less. I recommend that you get a special dog food that helps dogs get more nutrients because if the dog doesn't have enough it sheds more than it needs to. My dog had the same problem. His hair started to come out in clumps so I got a special dog food, and it decreased his shedding dramatically. I also recommend that you brush your dog daily.

Yes... its the same breed just a different coat colour. They all are the same breed and have the same type of coat.. just a different colour. So they all shed the same.
Now if you want to reduce the shedding of your dog I suggest feeding a high quality food such as Natural Balance (something with no corn or by-products) and add a skin and coat supplement to his food such as Shed Stop.. http://www.bullwrinkle.com/ShoppingPages/shed-stop.htm

Yes. The only difference is the color. Different foods will help slow shedding and there are certain brushes designed to take the dead fur out before it gets onto your carpets. Since your dog has short hair, they should work pretty well.
