Try your County's Animal Control folks. In most places local Vets set up very inexpensive spay/neuter clinics and cooperate closely with the Animal Control folks.

Last time I use them was to neuter a male, cost me $35 as I recall, and spay service was priced at $50 at the time.

It varies from location to location. Typically the SPCA in your area will offer low cost spay neuter.

Spaying your dog is probably the best thing you can do both for her health and the for the risk of unwanted litters. You are doing the right thing.

It depends on a few things... one weight of the dog... and the vet you use... I know my new puppy, he is a rat terrier.. and will top out at 12 pounds.. is going to be around $75.00 to have him neutered.... some vet's are cheaper.. and there are some towns that offer lower cost spay/neuter at the local humane society at a reduced rate. I also know of a company in our area that does spay/neuter called C-Snip.. they do handle this for low income households...

the procedure costs the same,, whether she has had her first heat or not...

The thing that you need to know is..... per my vetrinarian... letting a female have her first heat and then having her spayed... it has been found that the dog was more prone to developing "tumors" later in life....

I had my little female spayed.. shortly before her first heat.... and she is now 10 years old.. and has not had any problems...
