I have 2 Enlgish Bulldogs that I've had since they were pups. Both girls are spayed now and 3 & 4 yrs old. They used to be best of friends and now they hate one another. We are at wits end and have tried everything to prevent them from fighting and finally had to separate them in different parts of the house. It is very difficult to always be on our toes and quick enough to shut the door before a fights begins. Both girls are given equal amounts of attention and love so we know that is not the problem but don't know what is. We don't want to part with either dog but know that if we don't get the problem solved we will eventually have to before someone gets hurt in the midst of a battle. Any and All advise will be appreciated.

Being spayed defiently can cause this, like how a bull having his balls cut completely off makes him docile.
Fighting between dogs of the same sex is common and will occur naturally unless a dog is taught not to do so.
Dogs have always fought over food, the right to mate, the position in a pack, and in defence of their young or territory.
You could try obediance training, which is the most exspensive but most defiently more efficient.
Or try walking the dogs a couple times a day to reduce any stresses, for that may be the problem.
Dogs are extremely sensitive to human emotions, and can feel your pain, sadness, anger, and even stressed.
And if you're stressing over this, they get highly overwhelmed and take it out...in the wrong way.
Walk them everyday seperately untill you notice changes in behavior.

This sounds like a hormone problem. We have 3 cats. For a while ago all three of them starting fighting each other for no reason (they all lead separate lives during the day). We ended up getting a hormone treatment for each of them. Within a week they had all calmed down and could walk past each other without rowling (cat version of dog growling). Go to your local vet and explain the circumstances to them. They will know what hormone therapy to give them. Try to think in terms of psychology - it would not hurt to exercise them separately to work out their frustrations and anger. I hope my answer is better than the others that don't think things through. Good luck!

DOG WHISPERER! Read his books, watch his programs, go to his online question page.
he deals with this all the time.
more than likely you have not established youself as the leader of the pack in your household, and these two bulldogs are fighting because they are unsure who is leader...every dog needs a strong leader.
I would know how to deal with it if I was there. but since I'm not..it would be best to ask him..he can tell you more thouroughly than I how to do it proper.

nicely, appropriate me if i'm incorrect, yet would not a respected breeder make positive that the canines is going to the right residing house and is in simple terms no longer put in a cruelty subject jointly with canines combating? would not they be doing residing house exams, historic past exams, etc to make positive the canines is going to be cared for? some American Bulldogs do have docked tails, regardless of if I absolutely have not come for the time of any that are docked. the unique vendors of my 2 American Bulldog (mixes) had their tails docked - i do no longer understand why someone would have a mutt's tail docked, yet it really is in simple terms my lack of expertise i assume. Regardless, if the breeder became respected, I easily do no longer imagine that that they had use one of those stupid reason to have a canines's tail docked... in simple terms my address it.
