We went to the vet last week and he had ear infections, the vet gave him ear drops (mometamax) and we have been putting those in (8 drops, 1X a day). He has been vomiting and now he is not eating, he is drinking a lot but now we have noticied blood in his urine. Please help with any answers you may have.

Sixty dogs are going to be examined internally while anesthetized at the Medical College of Wisconsin for a class this month. Then they'll be put to sleep and there is an uproar. The Humane Society puts dogs to sleep every week, so are they using dogs that would have been euthanized anyway? This hasn't been mentioned in the articles I've read about this issue.

I had a couple of personal emails from people whose dogs got sick recently from eating Beneful dog food. Beneful says that the food tested did not contain any presense of aflatoxins but, I am still getting reports of sick dogs that eat Beneful.

Anyone else out there with dogs that have gotten sick recently and are fed Beneful? Please let me know. I want to follow-up on this.

She is a boxer and is 12 months old next month. She has been in season for about 5 weeks, which she has been spotting since then. I thought that they were only meant to be in for 3 weeks. Like my other dog.
I know everbody is different but why has she not come out yet?

I rescued my dog 2 years ago. He was aged 6. Obviously has his own traits now. But, I cannot let him off the lead. It's such a shame he cannot run and be free when I take him out. He has managed to escape a couple of times and will not return to me when I call him. I have to run after him each time and corner him or jump on him whilst he is doing his business. It's certainly no fun for him or me. We have taken him to classes but this didn't help, he cannot socialise with other animals. Can anyone advise?

my shih tzu is 3 mos. & my rottie is 8 mos. whenever i feed my rottie and my shih tzu comes along, he (rottie) doesn't really growl, he just gives him(shih tzu) 'the look' rotties give to animated objects. my rottie stays outside to keep watch of our home while my shih tzu stays inside. whenever i open my window to pet and praise my rottie, he barks at me and wants to come near me, and when i close the window, he doesnt bark anymore and goes playing somewhere in the house. my rottie also barks when he sees us carrying the shih tzu.

can you please tell me what's going on with their behavior?
why can't they be friends?

I just recently adopted a 5 mo old german shepard/lab mix. He's a sweetheart, and wicked smart, but I'm at a loss as to how to stop this biting. Especially when he bites my other dog, a 3 yr old mutt. Do I just let them duke it out, or should I intervene?

For some reason I always spot a run away dog, and i always stop my car and pick the dog up, most of them that I found has there phone number on there tag so I can call and return there dog to them.
In my heart I have to stop to help, Dogs dont really realize the danger of cars and are usually running all over the road and I am scared for them to get hit. My Hubby gets real mad at me cause he is worried that i might get attacked one day trying to help these dogs out. I have returned close to 50 dogs to there owners in the last 2 years and i am so proud of myself doing that.
I know I am at risk if i pull up to a dog that is dangerous but I cant just turn my back on them, I wouldnt be able to sleep at night if i spot one lose and did nothing about it.
If my dogs got out by mistake I hope somebody would stop to help them and bring them home to safety.
Is my Hubby right to stop helping? I just saved one from being hit last week and didnt tell my Hubby. What am i doing wrong?

My mom is the kind of woman that whenever she has a problem, first thing she sees is the cause. I really love my dog, and she wants to give him away because she is sick and blames it on the dog, she is never even in contact with him, he is either outside or in a room with me. He is the only reason I live for. My mom doesn't like me because she says I am lazy, and I am never going to be anything... Even if I bring home 100% and I clean the house up and down and rubbing and scrubbing. My stepdad 100 times worse, he is the definition and master of asshole. He hits me all the time cause I am smaller than him, He won't let me have my money which I earn, he keeps it, I am not allowed to eat in the house, I have to eat outside, and of course he doesn't let me go anywhere, so the only time I can eat is at school, at noon. and on weekends my brother has to take home food for me in secret. My sister is Schizophreniac. and well, my brothers are old so there isnt much I have to live for except my

I recently bought a 4 mo old beagle. On walks he is shy around people and will sit down until they go away, but he remains calm instead of aggressive. We will go on long walks and when I get back to the house he eliminates inside instead. I have tried Puppy Pads and they don't stimulate him. When I walk him he mostly walks on the cement so I walk in the grass to get him to start exploring the grounds. When he was at the breeder's he was kept in a large barn with all the others, with a cement flooring, in large kennel with many other dogs. I am guessing they eliminated in the kennel and the breeders cleaned it regularly. How do I train him to go in the grass?

SO I'M THINKING ABOUT GETTING FIVE DOGS (DIFF. BREEDS). BUT ONE IS MORE OF A GUARD DOG (CHOW). SO... I'M GETTING THEM ALL AT THE SAME TIME. THAT WAY, THE CHOW WILL GROW UP WITH THE REST OF THE DOGS... AND ALL WILL GO WELL. MY COUSIN DID THIS... SO I KNOW IT WORKS! BUT THATS NOT WHAT I'M ASKING UR OPINION ON.

THIS IS. WELL, I'D OF COURSE GIVE DIFFERENT NAMES TO ALL OF THEM.... SO WOULDN'T THEY GET CONFUSED??? IF I HAD ONE DOG NAMED ROCKY AND I CALLED HIM... THEY WOULDN'T KNOW WHICH ONE OF THEM I WAS CALLING! SO... WOULD THEY STILL LEARN THEIR NAMES? IS THERE AN EASIER WAY TO DO THIS???

THANKS IN ADVANCE! AND... SORRY FOR ANY SPELLING MISTAKES (I HATE SPELLING... ALWAYS HAVE SUCKED AT IT!).
