i'm think of getting another dog, im to to sure which one tho
i want a dog that looks mean in a way, a good family dog, likes children.
these are the ones i like: Rottie, great dane and mastiff
which one is most suitable?

My father's dog has a mild Low Thyroid condition. He has not put her on medication, as per the vets request. What is Low Thyroid and how dangerous is it?

Theres a dog over by my mother in laws that has been tied out with no shelter for past few days...Finially after visiting her today, I could take no more. I went to local police, and they said it has to wait till Monday...Well here in Ohio it is 14 degrees and with wind chill -4...That dog is out there shaking and nothing will be done for it. Id go steal him, but this house is a known drug house in the area, and dont really want to get killed...Im sick here and hoping that the dog can make it till Monday. Our local Animal Welfare is closed, and said to call local police, but since that city where the dog is doesnt have a contract, with AW that dog will have to suffer..anyway my question is. This was a white German Shepherd, can he withstand the cold for another day? What options do I have besides getting my brains blown out trying to steal him?

I got him at animal rescue, he is twelve months old, i called him Ali as in Mohomad Ali but he just stares at me as if i just landed from space, any hints.

I've recently adopted a dog from our local SPCA. Before we took him home we noticed a scab on the inside of his right ear. We asked the folks at the adoption center what they thought it might be and they said it looks like he had it injured but that it was not infected and that it would heal just fine. Today as we were out for a walk I was checking on his ear...as I looked closer I realized that the as the scab fell away it reviled a series of NUMBERS! What on earth could this mean? The vets don't know were he came from...could it be a laboratory dog or even gang related?

I am in need of help in finding a dog chew for my Mastiff that he cannot chew through. I've tried traditional rawhide that is layered to last longer. Booda bones, nylabones. He doesn't like kongs, so that doesn't work. I've also tried the gihugious beef bones. He chews the ends off, and doesn't want it after that. This usually takes him an hour. I want something for him to chew on that will last more than five minutes. Any suggestions are appreciated.

my puppy is 2 1/2 months old, i have a five year old son who he is always playing with, but the puppy doesnt know the difference between biting and playing, and the other day the puppy bit my son pretty hard how can i stop him from doing this? he is signed up for obedience school starting in march...

If it's not one thing it's another! I took my 14 month chihuahua to the vet for shots yesterday and was told she has some baby teeth still in that should have fallen out...and the vet wants to "remove" them. I did comment that I wish vet had noticed this two months ago when I had brought her in for spaying. Does this sound like something that needs to be done? Won't they eventually fall out on their own?

I have a 12 week old long coat chihuahua. She was born approximately 3-1/2 oz at birth (11/15/06) and is now (2/3/07) 3-1/2 - 4 lbs. Sire was 4 1/2 lbs (4th generation of champion line) and dam was 6 lbs. Breeder says she'll probably get about 5-1/2 or 6 lbs. I've had a previous smooth coat reindeer chi and they said the same thing but he got to be almost 10 lbs. Anyone have any idea?

I just asked this question earlier. My dogs hair won't grow back in several spots after being shaved. He has seen a vet and had his thyroid checked and his skin, no explanation from vet as yet.

Its coming near spring and summer and my jack russell as a terrible time with grass hes a year and half old been a keenel dog most of his life so it was wonderful to see him on grass forthe first time last year when we brought him home from the dog sanctuary the thing is getting him to take these tablets is a nightmare and i was wondering if there was any alternate homopathy medicines creams he can have that will help and also it knocks hisconfidence having to go to the vets each time so it wouldbe a big help if anyone knew of something that would help him thanks

I took my dog to the vet today to get his rabies shot. I haven't had any problems with his knees or legs. The veterinarian examined his legs that says that he needs surgery. If that's the case, how is it that he can run the speed of lightning?
