my dog always bends his paw when hes about to go to sleep or lay down. Why does he do it looks so uncomfortable

He's just getting in a relaxing and comfortable position. It may look uncomfortable to us, but it's not for him. My dogs "tuck" their front paws underneath their chest. I think it's because their feet are a little cold.

I don't know. My lab does that when he sleeping. It is only his right paw. I guess it just feels comfortable. He does not seem to be in any pain. My other dog, a pomapoo sleeps with his head one way and his body the other. He looks very uncomfortable. He looks like he has been twisted.

My dog's tail gets uncurled (he's a pug with a curly tail) because it relaxes the dog. I am not sure about bending the paw but maybe that is how they stretch their paws out and get comfy.

Because it keeps their paws warm. What looks uncomfortable to you, may not be uncomfortable to him.

crossing legs is uncomfy but some people still do it...my cat crosses her front paws

I would guess that it is comfortable or he would choose another position
