There are some great Grain free options available to you that are perfectly suitable for a GD. Orijjen is the most expensive but it is definitely a high quality food. Acana is a little cheaper and almost as good. Taste of the wild comes in four flavors and is very popular in the GD community. It is a reasonable price and of great quality. As long as your girl is healthy, energetic, is on a good quality food and isn't emaciated, try not to worry so much about her exact weight. Some danes are just naturally more lean than others. It's better for them to be on the leaner side than to be too chunky in the long run anyway. Good for you for realizing she needs to be on a better quality food and being willing to l ook into it. So many owners these days do not, and their dogs suffer for it.

I always wanted a Great Dane, perhaps if she ever have pups you can give me one. Here are my favourites, feel free to use one:
1. Bailey
2. Lady Windsor
3. Bentley
4. Stefanie
5. Sam/Samantha
You can look around on the web for websites that assist with names of animals, maybe if the ones above do not satisfy, you can find something more to your liking. Good luck!

Gotta love Danes!! I know you have a little girl but when I was younger we used to have a male named Duke and It just fit him perfect! (not that you should name your girly duke. ha!)
I'm getting a Doxie (big dog... little body lol)pup in 1 week and we picked out the name Piper for her.
Some other names I had picked out were:
Daphne
Willow
Henna
It took me about 2 weeks to come up with a name.... Good luck!
