I am in need of help in finding a dog chew for my Mastiff that he cannot chew through. I've tried traditional rawhide that is layered to last longer. Booda bones, nylabones. He doesn't like kongs, so that doesn't work. I've also tried the gihugious beef bones. He chews the ends off, and doesn't want it after that. This usually takes him an hour. I want something for him to chew on that will last more than five minutes. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I've never heard of a dog destroying a Nylabone - that's amazing (not to mention a little alarming). God bless you for your patience.

Sounds awful, but consider a car tire. Could work, and you've got nothing to lose ...

I've got dogs that do this......a stuffed toy lasts about 2 mins.! A Kong is your best bet. I also get really BIG braided tugs (about 2-3 ft. long) but once they start shredding it, it hits the trash. They also like the giant rawhides and leg bones. Nothing last too long though.... Just look for "sales" whenever you can and stock up!! Check kvvet.com - they have some good heavy duty toys.

I'm not sure what gihugious beef bones are so I hope I'm not wasting your time. We have a german shepherd and he chews through things pretty fast also. We have a friend that processes beef at his home. He gave us some bones that he had sliced up and smoked. These last a long time and our dog loves them. Your local butcher may be able to get you something similar.

why the incessant need for you to want him to chew so much..... stay away from rawhide,, very dangerous,,, as they can break off a big piece and it can cause stomach blockage... stuff the kong with peanut butter then freeze it for awhile..... that'll keep him busy for awhile

Have you tried to put peanut butter and dog treats inside the kong?

Go to your butcher and ask for a Marrow bone, they come in very large sizes and should keep him happy for days.
