If it's not one thing it's another! I took my 14 month chihuahua to the vet for shots yesterday and was told she has some baby teeth still in that should have fallen out...and the vet wants to "remove" them. I did comment that I wish vet had noticed this two months ago when I had brought her in for spaying. Does this sound like something that needs to be done? Won't they eventually fall out on their own?

YOU should never remove anything. If her adult teeth are trying to come through with the baby ones still not budging or wobbly get your vet to check this out. If they need extracting, your vet will do it.

Yes, you need to have the vet remove them. If they stay, it may cause damage to the soft tissues of the mouth and may even accelerate wear of permanent teeth. Also, it causes buildup of plaque and tartar which can lead to gum inflammation, abscesses and other oral problems.

should have fallen out by 6 months,,,, you can try to wiggle the baby teeth whenever your dog is sleeping on your lap,,, if he isn't in obvious pain,,, try this for a month or two,, also play some tugging games with him

No, they will not fall out on their own and it definitely needs to be done.
