I take my dog bike riding with me, but she is wearing sores on the pads on her feet. I am sure it is from the concrete. I cannot avoid it because I live in south Austin and concrete is practically everywhere. I love taking her on bike rides and she loves it too. I don't want to stop taking her because she loves to run. What can i do about her paws. Should I just take it easy on her so that they can heal over each time she develops the sores or is there something I can do?

My sister says "It's just fine for dogs to lick, bless their little hearts!" Personally I think this is disgusting, I don't let my puppy lick, she wanted me to post this question.

my dog is a 13 week old jack russell. the dog and cats are kept in the kitchen when we aren't home. they get along fine but sometimes we come home and find cat poo out of the litter tray and on the kitchen floor, i don't know if she is eating it or just playing with it. she does it if shes left for an hour or four hours so i don't think shes doing it because shes left for to long she does it whenever she feels like, people have recommended a gate but we can't put one in as the litter tray, the cats and the dog are all in one room when we're not there. please help as i think its gross and i dread to think what she might be picking up

I have a 4.5 year old male Bichon and a 4 month old female Lasapoo. They've been together now for 2 months but they still don't seem to get along that well. I make them do everything together but every time the puppy wants to just sit beside the bichon, he growls. He hates it when she comes near him but it's ok for him to come sniff her. I can tell she loves him a lot, always wants to play and when they sleep she wants to be near him but he prefers not to be. He usually sleeps with me on the bed, but since the puppy has learned to jump on the bed too, my bichon wants nothing to do with her and will sleep on the floor facing the wall. What should I do?

Hi,

Im looking for mini dachshund breeders in Ontario, as I can not seem to find many through google and I know that the best breeders only advertise through word of mouth, so if you have any breeders you know of that would be great =)

Thanks a ton!

Dose anybody have a really go positive pit bull slogan. I'm doing a school project and I'm trying to convince my class that BSL is wrong and Pit Bulls shouldn't be targeted just b/c of their past history.

Our dog doesn't like the car very much despite going to great fun places and not doing too many journeys over half an hour. One suggestion has been to give him his dinner in the car (stationary of course) to encourage him to want to jump in the hatchback rather than me have to coax and lift him in as I do now. Does it work?

I was at work the other day when a dog that was tied up outside my store (I work retail) started to bark and wag its tail playfully. He obviously just missed his owner and wanted to play. I guess the owner got mad at him for barking 'cause she stormed out towards him. As soon as the dog spotted her he shrunk down to the ground, and put his head down. She shocked me by lifting this medium/big sized dog by his collar, I guess so that it would move - I dont really know why. He did not stop barking - so she went out again and gave him a couple swats on the head - not really hard, but hard enough to make his chin hit the ground while lying down. Unfortunately they left before I could do anything, but I really don't know what I should have done. Should I have called the cops? Some kind of animal organization? Or am I over reacting?

I think I may have finally found a reputable breeder. Her dogs are family raised, aren't constantly kept in kennels, she has references, genetic guarantees, she makes sure the puppies don't leave their mother too early, she only raises one breed, and told me up front what kind of problems this breed is prone too. She also has her dogs registered. But what worries me is that they are CKC registered (Continental Kennel Club). I've been told that CKC is better than AKC. CKC is more lenient with what dogs they accept, and that they aren't as good as AKC.

Just because a dog is AKC registered, doesn't mean the breeders are reputable. Some people see that a dog is AKC registered and immediately think they're getting the best. In fact, the breeder I'm considering uses CKC and not AKC because she thinks this will discourage people who want an AKC puppy to one day breed at a puppy mill.

My question is do you think that this is a reputable breeder even though her dogs are CKC?
