We have a huge german shepherd. My parent treat it like it's a small dog, but really it's 102 pounds.. We are moving into a new house that does not let dogs inside, they have to stay outdoors.. So my question is how? How do we get her use to it?? Thanks

My number one choice right now is chicken soup, but many people have recommended canidae to me also.Does canidae make puppy small breed formula? & how much would a 5lb bag cost? I know chicken soup os about 8 dollars for 7 pounds which is very affordable for me !! Which foods do you recommend for toybreeds that are affordable? Thanks!!

My almost 2 year old dobermann over the past few months has started to open and close his mouth very slowly with his tongue coming out a little and drools excessively. This goes on from anywhere between 2-5 minutes. He just does this out of the blue for no reason. Is this a mini seizure? We are really stumped on what this could be. Has anyone ever heard of this?

My dog will chew up anything and everything either when I go to bed or leave her for 5 minutes. Whenever I come home I have to clean up something that she has chewed up. It's been anything to my kids toys to my remote, my mop, my couch. She doesn't stop. When I leave I have to tie her sister up and I put them both in my laundry room where I think that they won't be bad, I even clean everything out and put stuff up where they can't get it but they have even chew a hole in my wall. What can I do to stop them? (I think I knkow which one is doing it!)

I've taken in a 5 month old female minpin into my home. I love her, I've had her for a month and she's doing great! Her previous owners were feeding her science diet, but i researched it and realized it isn't meat based and doesn't have any real meat in it, and uses fillers as the first ingredients. I went to PETCO & purchased purina proplan because the ingredients looked good and I had read up about it. Daisy doesn't really like it though, we feed her 3 times a day, in the morning & nighttime we only give it to her dry (maybe 1/3 a cup) but in the midday, we give her 1/4 cup of dog food mixed in with maybe a tablespoon of canned food. She really doesn't like it unless it's mixed in with canned food, so i'm looking to switch. Right now, Im thinking of purchasing Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's soul. I've heard good things about it & the ingredients seem great! Please let me know ifthis is a good food, and if not, what other foods are good! Also, is it OK to give her canned food too?

was just wondering would there be a limit to how many commands/tricks etc. you could teach your dog, on average how much can they cope with. i have a border collie and am trying to teach him certain instructions such as find your ball, which he does, and now i am trying to teach him tidy-up-time, to put his toys back in his box. is this daft to expect him to do this. . he is also joining obedience classes next week. is this too much imput for him.

We've been watching my brother's dog....
Lat night we went to a store (we left her in the car) we were gone for maybe an hour and a half (she is very good about being in the car)
we got back and she looked very sad, anyway, we had bought her a toy for being good, she didn't want anyhting to do with it...
we got home and she took it from me and started whining, then we squeeked it and she started to whine again and when and tried to burry it, now she has been doing it all day...
what is wrong with her?

Hi all,

I share my space with a black german shepard (7 years old). I would like to know if anyone else has heard of or have their dogs ever eaten weird food's... I kno certain foods are not good for dogs period.. (ie citrus foods) but my shep loves eating carrots... as this is my fav food too, I always have at least a bag or two. I share these sweet treats with my pup as I dont see it could hurt him. He has a dieases called Addisons, which causes him to have a "bottomless pit? when it comes to eating, so I figure at least he is eating veggies...

Are there any other human foods that he can eat that wont cause the weight gain???

thanks in advance!

l~
