She is 10 months old, large breed dog. She hasn't been outside in a while, she is a house dog. This was soo weird. Never happened before!? She is on Nutro Max.

The stool is solid. Not diarrea. She seems like herself. She is playing, jumping, running, attacking me. Yes, she does eat her own feces, and we have tried all the higher quality foods. However, Nutro (On a normal basis) doesnt make her stool smell as bad as the others.

Sorry to scare you, and my dog was very lethargic too, but her poo was green and it was a sign that she has stomach cancer. Hope its not the same for you, but best to tell you.

Well, how COULD it be good? The only question is "Is this a little bad, or a major bad?".
I would look around for anything missing which was green.... plants, etc. If it lasts for more than a few days, I would get over to a vet. In the meantime, you might want to make some simple white rice with chicken broth for his dinner.

And Nutro Max is ok... but it has a lot of wheat in it, which can cause some digestive and skin problems. For the same price, you could put him on Innova or something like it. Best of luck!

is it possible the dog ate its own feces? i know thats really gross but it happens sometimes i've seen it. and if that is the case you may consider switching to a higher quality food. nutro, i think, contains a significant amount of corn. heres the thing, corn doesn't digest well for really any carnivore, dogs or people even. what happens with dogs is if they eat a food that they aren't able to digest completely they can smell "useful" food left in their poop. when they smell that they tend to think its ok to eat. i'd like to recommend a few very good foods that you'll end up feeding less of due to higher quality/concentration and the dog will digest it much much better. here goes some foods my dog has tried and liked, Innova(which is what i feed my dog now), blue buffalo, chicken soup for the dog lovers soul, and others you can try are wellness, canidae, california natural, timberwolf organics. these are all foods that are very highly concentrated and require much smaller amounts to satisfy a dogs needs. they will digest better and produce smaller stool, which is nice for big dogs. the important thing is to be sure to mix the new food slowly to make sure the dog can get used to a much higher quality food. give it a try and good luck!

If it is a bright neon green that doesn't seem like the color can occur in nature than you need to check around you house to see if there is any rat bait out that the dog could have gotten into... The dye in the bait will make the feces bright green. If there is a chance that the dog could have gotten into bait than I would recommend getting to dog to a vet or emergency vet as quickly as possible. Especially if the dog is acting lethargic or is vomiting or is starting to have diarrhea. The vet will be able to give an antidote. But is has to be given quickly.

If this is abnormal, then she should see a vet. Is she having diarrhea? This could be anything from an upset stomach to intestinal parasites. It is best to have her checked by a vet, they can check a stool sample to see if she has any intestinal parasites.

Another thing is that she could have possibly ate something that was green. My friends dog ate a box of crayons, and she pooped funny colors for a day or two. But I would take her to the vet to be sure it isn't something serious.

Check the ingredients of the dog food and see if veggies are a large part of the food. Next, have you been giving her Greenies for dental health, if so, they will turn her stool green if you are giving her too many. If you haven't been doing either then check with your vet.

It sounds like an intestional or stomach bug to me. The bad smell gives it away. Take her to the vet pronto.

DO NOT GIVE TABLE FOOD TO YOUR GOOD FRIEND........Its possible...the dog is like a child, check under your sink or any other space where there are chemicals or cleaning stuff..what goes in ..... comes OUT.
