We've been watching my brother's dog....
Lat night we went to a store (we left her in the car) we were gone for maybe an hour and a half (she is very good about being in the car)
we got back and she looked very sad, anyway, we had bought her a toy for being good, she didn't want anyhting to do with it...
we got home and she took it from me and started whining, then we squeeked it and she started to whine again and when and tried to burry it, now she has been doing it all day...
what is wrong with her?

leaving her in the car is usually better for her, she gets really scared being at home alone and we made sure she had a blanket and pillow to snuggle with, my brother even does it and she is normally fine.

Leaving a dog in car for long periods of time is not healthy for the dog. Its cold outside, people can torment the dog while its left in the car. In the summer a dog can quickly develop heat stroke and die when left in a car even with the windows open slightly.

If the dog can't go where you are, leaver her at home. If she has seperation anxiety issues, contact a trainer or behaviorists for help working on these issues.

I think she just may have seen or heard something in the parking lot that scared her. Maybe another dog in a car or someone looking in the window at her or maybe she thought you took too long and was worried. There are many possibilities, but don't worry unless it happens again.

1. she misses her real owner. (find something of your brother's, a shirt or sweater)

2. YOU LEFT HER IN A CAR!!!! what's wrong with you?? NEVER LEAVE A PET in a car, no matter what the season or the time of day!!! You don't know that there are crazies that are going to steal your pets. And let alone that you left a pet in a car in the freezing cold.

Hi I read all the answers and agree that she misses her owner....and the person who said to get his shirt of something is right on....he should leave something with you in the future and leave her at home...just because he does it doesnt mean you have to.....your house is different from his and her visit with you can be totally different than what she is used to......when you leave her turn on a radio or the tv for some company.....she truly misses him.....

you NEVER leave a dog in a car in a parking lot, something or some one really scared her and now she is pineing for your brother, just leave her get over this and when you go out leave her HOME, it's the best place for her.

Maybe it was too cold when you left your dog in the car, and it caught the cold...

WHATS WRONG WITH HER?

Are you kidding?

She feels abandoned and unsafe! How rational do any of us behave when we feel that way?
