My almost 2 year old dobermann over the past few months has started to open and close his mouth very slowly with his tongue coming out a little and drools excessively. This goes on from anywhere between 2-5 minutes. He just does this out of the blue for no reason. Is this a mini seizure? We are really stumped on what this could be. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Yes, he could be having siezures. Dobermans are prone to having epilepsy. He may also have some dental problems. Best to have him seen by your vet, either way.

receives ill? does he vomit? The pacing and drooling is a demonstration of vomiting. He would have picked up a toad, this would have this variety of effect, or licked off flea remedies? some thing like that. in the adventure that your worried besides the undeniable fact that i'd take him again to the vets and ask for some more beneficial checks to be done.

You should really have your dog seen by a vet. He may have a serious problem that if seen early might be cheaper and easier to fix. When in doubt always seek medical attention first.
