so i found a VERY pregnant pitbull today walked on a veyr busy road. i was able to pick her up. Took her to my vet. they didnt want her.(fear of disease) i called the humane society. they could do nothing- finally i took her to the SPCA. they took her, but if they cant place her she will be euthanized in 72 hours. its heartbreaking. i dont know what to do. i already have 4 dogs. and cannot take more in. i would feel sooo terrible if i knew i took this poor dog to her death. i need to find out QUICKTIME where i can take her. i want to get her out of the SPCA just in case, she will probably have the litter within a couple days.
she has a genuinely sweet disposition.
HELP PLS

I know puppies need lots of water daily, but this pup drinks till his bowl is empty and wants more. He eats 2 cups of Purina Beneful three times daily. He is growing at a normal pace, super fast, and has a playful and energetic mischevoues temperment. Is the water requirements normal?

I want to convince my mom that I'm old enough to be responsible for one. The dog would have to be hypoallergenic, somewhat calm, loveable and small/medium sized. She says that we will never get one after the previous dog experience we had five years ago, so please give me some dog breeds and ideas to persuade her...

I have two 16 week old pups (maltese / pug crosses), brother and sister. Both of them have begun digging holes in the lawn recently - does anyone have any strategies for discouraging this behaviour please? Why would they be doing this? (I dont think it is boredom as they are very much doted on by my wife and I).

I don't know why my dog, Bart, likes going for walks so much. Everytime I get out his chain he gets happy, and all we do is go around the block the same direction everytime. Does anyone know why dogs like going on walks so much?

My family's dog is blinking abnormally; one eye blinks before the other one does. Is this a cause for alarm, or just an interesting quark?

I need to know because I've been begging my mom to try and get her bred for awhile now, but she wants me to see if she's still young enough. And how much longer until she can't have puppies anymore?

I know I'm asking a lot of questions on here about my puppy, but I'm just trying to adapt to him and learn his ways and all, I've never had an inside dog before so. But what I noticed is, he always pees on either carpet or some sort of fabric. I've been training him to the blue pads, and whenever he is let out of his room(laundry room, which is tiled), he's fine, but when he uses the potty it's always on the carpet or a blanket or something simliar, so I was thinking maybe he thinks because he can go on the pad, that means anything "padded''?

I like big dogs, and i'm not really positive why. I just think they are cuter and more fun. I like playing with them and being able to wrap my arms around them. I like small dogs too, but i would never want one. Do you like big dogs better, or small dogs better? Why?

My roommate and I just met this guy who is going to africa. He has two yorkie puppies, they are small dogs of course, but he wants us to have them. He says that if we don't take them he is going to put them down, and I don't want them to die, do you think its cruel to have puppies in an apartment? Its a rather large apartment.

Well research has shown that this is how much it could cost you to have a dog in its first year!! you have vet bills, vaccinations, spaying nuetering not to mention these little or big accidents that could happen.
Diahorrea, broken bones, foriegn bodies in mouth or stomach to be removed. Sore ears, cuts, mites, fleas, heartworm prevention, stung by something, snake bites.

AND so the list goes on.

So if you want to be a responsible pet owner then be responsible and ask yourself, can i afford it??????
Be realistic, Love alone is not enough for animals they need care and responsibilties, NOW that is really loving your animal.

PLEASE be honest and think about it for the most part it can be a 20 year committment.

I got a 7 month old puppy from the pound about 3 months ago. When I got him, they said he was completely house trained. When I got him home, he pooed on the florr and peed. I thought that he was just getting used to his new environment, and that he would stop doing that. He was scolded, and then taken outside. The problem is, he still does it. I've set out a schedule for him, and he's taken outside regularly. he's outside for atleast an hour after he's eaten, but it's like he holds it untill he gets inside the house. I don't know what to do. Please help!
He's also been to the vet, so I know it's no problem there.

I have a corner where she sleeps and where her food is places. i work and she is home alone for more than 8 hours by her self. i take er out to use the restroom and she does but a few hours after she leaves a me a smelly suprise. I have gone to pet stores where i get diffrent ways of training which i have tied and gotten no results. anyone have any other methods (maybe doggy liter)?

we have a puppy (vet is guessing about 4 to 5 months old) we found on the roadside. No one has claimed her so we are taking the plunge and keeping her. We are going to take all the good suggestions, put them in a hat and pick a name. She is white with 'lemon' markings - maybe part pointer.
