How do you potty train, A 10 week old yorkie???

We just got a 10 week old yorkie male, I am wondering what is the easiest way yo potty train him, he is CRATE trained but will not go out side or on the paper

get puppy pads. They are scented with stuff you can't smell, but your dog wants to pee on. Put them near your door, and when he gets the hang of it, move them outside. Hang a jingle bell on an elastic string on your door and teach him to ring the bell when you take him out, he'll figure out to ring the bell to alert you.

I have a female yorkie, and I had this same problem. The trick is to set a routine. I always take her out every 4 hours..more if I am home(weekends etc) I always say lets go outside or do you need to potty...it sounds silly but it honestly works. It took about a week for her to understand and to into the swing of things. This, along with potty pads works well. I always leave the pads out if I am going to be gone longer than 4 hrs at a time..put it in front of the door you take him out of! Good Luck!

You dont potty train a dog, you teach it to go out...
Go to door
Take dog's paw and rub door saying Out
Proceed to leash dog and open door to go out
Lead dog to place in yard to "do"
Say good dog very happily
Do this many times a day for about a month

make sure he knows that peeing inside is bad but dont yell so much he gets scared and pees. when you find pee inside bring him over to it and point to it and say bad. he will normally see that your upset and know what your pointing to. but more then anything dogs loooooove posative reinforcement. if you catch him in the act of going to the bathroom on the carpet try and stop him and take him directly outside. if you can get him to go to the bathroom outside make sure to make a HUGE deal and make sure to give him lots of positive attension.
