My son is almost 7 years old and really wishes he had a sibling. Since that is not possible, do you think a dog might help him with feeling lonley and not having a playmate?

with this puppy, we've been trying to train him to the blue pads, and he'll go on there, but everytime we let him out of that room he poops on the carpet (only 2 rooms have carpet) and pees everywhere, we spank him and tell him no, and he still does it. AND he's now started tearing up the blue pads. I'm about to give up with him, what do u think?

I just got my new pup 2 days ago. She is eating puppy chow dry (1 cup) and nutro puppy wet food (1/2 pouch) at night. It isn't the same food the breeder was giving her. Did I cause her stool to be bloody? She has been de-wormed according to the paperwork.
I have also been rewarding her with Authority Doggie treats. (Not whole pieces)
She seems happy and eats alot. She has had over a dozen bowl movements in the past few days, this is the first one that was runny and was accompanied by blood. She goes to the vet on Saturday. Am I safe to wait it out and watch her??

In November my older dog became constipated so we changed his food. He seemed o.k. until last week when he started vomiting and he had diareha. We took him to the vet and they didnt see anything wrong with any of his tests. They suggested feeding him a "bland" diet so we fed him chicken and white rice. Yesterday our other dog started vomiting and today he has diareha. Does anyone know what could cause this?

Has anyone heard of or seen a GSD with muscular dystrophy or anything similar? There is one that is on the East Coast, American show lines, that is down big time on his pasterns and hocks. I have seen another one that was very similar and he came from a good American show breeder. In both of those boys, there was no muscle in the front legs, they were splinted with no help and their front feet were splayed out causing their toes to point up. There is another that I have seen, that is not the same, he is down on his hocks, and has trouble moving his rear, kind of swaying his hips back and forth. This pup is alright in the front, except for a buckled carpel joint on one side that was splinted, and it has come back. That pup is probably going to have to be put down, he is 7 months and I told his breeder to send him off for necropsy. Has anyone seen muscle problems like this in the GSD's?

My dog was paralytic and used to cry I don’t know what happened him and was living a miserable life, I was not able to see him like this I went for mercy killing, I cant forget this even today after 3 years, my younger brother was not allowing me to do this he was crying, my father till today don’t know how our dog died.
Did I take the right decision or I was not ready to face the truth and wanted to cut down my sorrows, please tell me the truth.

just fine all weekend. This morning I gave her some food and water and she hasn't eaten a thing. She's drank very little. She's been a little less playful and threw up green liquid with something that looked like grass in it. I've made a vet appointment already for her checkup and to have her spayed tomorrow. But I'm just curious about this behavior. Should I be worried or is this something that will pass.

4 days ago, my dog was up and running around. She is around 13 years old, a border collie, and is EXTREMELY active. 3 days ago, I woke up to find her lying on the ground. I called out her name sweetly, petted her, and gave her a treat. She didn't even wag her tail. I know that sounds odd for her not to do but trust me, she wags her tail ALL the time. I tried to coax her up to go to the bathroom, but she physically couldn't get up. You could tell she tried though because the whole time she was whimpering, trying to get up. I had to hand feed her and she ate which is good that she has an apetite. 2 days ago, I woke up to find her lying in her own urine. (please don't say that's gross because I find it heartbreaking). She was in the same condition that day except it smelled like fish. (urine) She wagged her tail a LITTLE BIT but not much. I really need to take her to the vet but I physically don't have the money. Is there anything natural (not medicine) I can give her? HELP

I have a 4 month old Golden Doodle puppy. She is cute, fun and playful and I love her to death.

I also have a brand new house with a brand new front and back lawn that I also sorta like. Unfortunately I have a few large holes in my yard now because my playful lovable dog thinks its fun to dig up the yard. I now cant let her out without taking my eyes off her for a second.

How can I prevent my dog from digging up the yard?

some of yall might have seen my question yesterday, when my dog was having her babies. Well she gave birth to 4 beautiful little puppies, but the sad part is 2 of them died. Well my question is, is it safe to give my dog a bath, or is it little to soon for her to take baths right now, she's kind of a mess from yesterday.

I have never owned a dog who had puppies, so I have no idea what to tell her except to get her spayed.

Its a chihuahua, it was given to her for free and she didn't really want it. Now it had puppies, and she didn't know it was pregnant. 1 puppy was big and died, then the 2nd lived and looks normal, (she had these two around 4am) then around 2:30pm she had another really skinny one and it died.

Now the momma is running insanely around her house whineing consantly, won't go outside and only stops to feed her remaining pup every once in a while.

What is going on? Is she going to reject her pup? Does she need to see the vet? There is no history on the dog at all, the owner who gave her up won't give any details on her.

The dog came with another male, same situation and we don't know if they're related or not, and if he's the sire or not.
