Maltese question?

Is there a specific name for maltese dogs with short hair? Because my friend has a maltese and the hair stays short and she had never cutten or shaven the coat.

No its in their genetics to have long hair. So her dog is either a mix breed or she is cutiing his hair.

No maltese only come long haired. it may be a throw back to when the breed was first though of.

It's not a maltese, it's probably a cross breed mutt.
