Make flyers with your dog's picture on it and post it every where in your neighborhood. Make sure to indicate when lost, your phone number, and ID he was wearing. The key is to post a big picture of your dog. Put on the flyer, REWARD. You can later offer the person any size reward, be it $5 or $1000.

Take treats, leash, etc with you and look for him. Call him in a non-threatening, non distrought tone.

Go door to door looking asking people if they have found or seen him.

Be out all the time looking for him. Leave food out and any thing to offer shelter. Like, leave the garage door open a little for him to get in.

Call all shelters and veterinary hospitals to let them know you lost your dog and to be on the look out. Post flyers at these locations as well.

Look everyday for your dog.

Hopefully your dog was wearing some kind of ID or microchipped. If so, if found you have a better chance of having him returned to you. Go to shelters and look for him to see if he had been picked up.

Put an ad in the paper....lots of people read the paper.....also make flyers......the kids could help and maybe ease their loss a little.......they will feel like they are helping. Also call your local animal shelter. give them a description with your name and phone number and they might call you if the dog comes in. We can only hope that the dog hasnt been killed.....dogs are more likely to be killed by cars than freezing in cold weather. They always manage to find a warm place to hide and keep warm. It is also possible that someone took the dog in so the flyers and paper ad could make a big difference in whether or not you find your loved pet. Last ask all your neighbors........well you should do that first...........but ask them maybe they saw the dog at some point. Also check parks and playgrounds where lots of kids might be if the dog is used to kids it might have went somewhere familiar. Ahyway I hope you find your dog....good luck. Just tell the kids that sometimes dogs get bored and like to go on adventures.........

Phone animal control and tell them that your dog ran away. Give them the dog's description and your phone number if any new dogs are found, and they'll contact you if a dog comes in. Be sure to mention the area that the dog was last seen.

Put an ad in the Lost & Found in your local newspaper or buy and sell. Give the dog's description, and possibly an offer of reward money if you can.

Does your dog have a tattoo or microchip? These are very useful if your dog ever gets lost, because they can be taken to the vet and you'll be contacted. If he didn't have either of those, did he at least have a collar with an ID tag? An ID tag is also useful because it gives your contact information if the dog is ever found, but the downside is that the ID tag is of no use if the dog isn't wearing its collar.

First call the city/county dog pound and local dog shelter and give a detailed description and a photo, if possible. They'll call you if a dog matching your description comes in. Get your kids involved and make up fliers on your computer with a photo of your dog. Have your children pass them out in the neighborhood and put them up a nearby businesses. If you want to give a reward, be sure to put that on the flier. Keep checking with the dog shelter and pound. Also, put an ad in the local newspaper so if someone finds your dog they can contact you. Good Luck!

Last week, some lady posted a lost dog on a website I was on. I went on another site and found out about a great site called lostandpound. This isn't just a local site. You can go on there and describe your dog (under the "lost" section). You will probably enter your zip code. The moderators of the site will check it over and send out an alert to everyone in your area and surrounding area who belongs to lostandpound. They will also send an alert to all vets, all shelters and humane societies, along with the police. Give it a try! Get some flyers out with your dog's picture. Post them everywhere (get permission at stores first) and hand them out. Stop crying and get busy!

First, report your dog missing to animal control and give them a detailed description. If they've picked it up or if they find it, they will contact you.

Continue searching your neighborhood, thinking about places where your dog might go. Does your dog like people or other dogs? Is there a park that you visit with your dog? Is your dog shy and likely to hide? The sooner you start looking the more likely you'll find your dog.

Put up lost dog posters with a good description and a photograph nof your dog.

Post flyers. A neighbor may have brought him in from the cold. Run an ad in lost and found. A picture helps. Offer reward.

I'm so sorry! I really hope you find her...I'm in California or I'd be out looking for her with you. Have you considered getting your dog microchipped? The humane society here does it for $20. Good luck sweetie!
