She has been running around the house barking at any little thing. She has been extremely obiedent, then guarding and agressive.
Is she just too hungry? I switched her from Nutro Max mini chunks.
I think she is back to the correct weight. She went from the vet scale type 8, I think she is back to a 6 or 7. I can just barely feel her ribs.

Why does my beagle dog sleep with me and when my husband comes to bed she growls and snips at him and it is his dog? It islike she does not liked to be moved when she is sleeping with me. She will know when I am going to bed and beat me in the bed but will not growl or snip at me just my husband. Another question is how do I keep her from jumping up on us and visitors? We have tried tapping her toes with our feet and gently kneeing her in the chest and at both things telling her "down". Neither have seemed to work. She is a sweet dog and loved by everyone in our neighborhood but these things just irritate me to no end. I hope someone can help me. Never have owned a Beagle breed before.

My dog is a yorkshire terrier....he is almost 7 months old and i love him to death. There is just one problem. He is bound and determined to run away. So we usually put him in the fenced in area, but if we let him be in the front on a chain which is what he likes most( which is why we love to do it) he finds a way to run away. I dont know how and it doesnt seem possible but it happens. We have tried different chains and everything. And i am getting kind of tired of chasing after him. We discipline him in different ways....we spank him, wont let him out for a while, EVERYTHING!!!! nothing works! I was thinking about a strong invisible fence but i dont have any experience with them. Do any of you have experience with them? If so...Good? Bad?.If not...any other suggestions? PLEASE HELP...Thanks so much

I have seen ppl post that they use the dog's crate as a way of punishment.
Im afraid that will make my dog feel as though he did something wrong everytime I put him in there (night, nap, while we are gone).

Isnt that sending the wrong message?

The only time I put him in there for something he doesnt do, is go to the bathroom outside, so that way I know he wont go in the house. And I dont punish him while I put him in there for that reason either.

Ok...we started this crate training when he was 10 weeks old...he would whine for 15 min. and then settle down. Now for the past 2 weeks, ONLY when the door is shut on him, he will whine and drool so much that he is 2/3 of his body is soaked and he feels very warm. I tried to ignore him and then he was just so soaked. We both work so crating is almost a must! It appears that when we are in the room with him and he is in the crate it is worse no matter how we ignore him. He pants like he's dying. But, if I just keep the door open and put him in there he will chew his toys, etc.
Any suggestions or alternatives? We thought about blocking off a room instead.
Thanks!

Our dog has been at the vet since Saturday morning and it's Monday morning now. He's on the vets treatment, getting shots of the antidote and well we just don't know what to think. If he is still alive 2-3 days after, is that a good sign? I know just the smallest amount will have an effect, and doesn't take long before it starts having an effect on a dog.

Can I use those plastic carrier as a crate? Most of the wired ones in the catalog look so monsterous for my dog, I was thinking to get one of those plastic travel ones and use for crating and transporting should I need to. Please advise, thanks in advance.

So, we got a new cat, and my dog eats her food(of course), we let him because he doesn't eat much of it and she eats his as well, but since he has started eating her food his breath is RANK! and i mean the kind of breath you can smell from a mile away. I brush his teeth regularly (once or twice a month) but nothing seems to help. i can't keep him away from her food so what can i do to freshen him up? Thanks!

Estimate of how long it takes for a dog to get it? As long as your doing it the correct way anyway.

I have only been on a week, and Im not impatient, I just would like to know how long it usually takes pups/dogs to understand the rules of the pack, lol

Hi, I got a puppy weimeriner and he's 3 months old & I try to take him outside for the bathroom like the book says when he wakes up & he's done playing & about 20 mins after he eats. Okay, I was taking him out like every hour and I personally think that's too much and wanted to try to make it longer between outside times like every 2 hours, but when I wait he then goes pee in the house. Is it normal for a 3 month old puppy to have to go out every hour or should I keep trying to train him to wait every 2 hours, because while I'm at work & when he's in his cage he is very good about not going and that's about 9 hours and then at night time too, he holds it for about 6-7 hours. He has had his occasional pee accident in the cage over night, but not too often.

Also about how long does it usually take for him to be potty trained so I don't have to put him in the cage anymore, because I do not like having to do that to him.

Thanks!

There are so many,"My dog won't LET me...." & "My dog keeps...." whatever.
*LET* you????

Are you people AFRAID of your own dog?
Aren't you bigger, stronger, SMARTER than any dog???

ELEPHANTS can be trained to get their nails done & you can't even MAKE your own dog be still & accept it????
If you call it "teaching" or "behavior modification",would it less intimadating/scary than "TRAINING"?
LOL
