It usually takes about 36 hours for the dog...within that time frame you have crystalization and the dog slips into coma or possible death. If your pet is still alive, and it was Saturday when this happen, I would say you got it to the vet in time and the odds are good. Good luck and I will be praying for your pet.

It maybe good. How are his kidneys doing? If he is having trouble urinating then his kidneys have already shut down. Antifreeze is horrible stuff and I've watched dogs die from it before. If he's able to have good urine flow (no apparent blockages) he will probably pull through. I realize he's at the vets but you should know what's going on from things they've told you. I think we need to require all vehicles be switched to a non lethal antifreeze. I have put this in some of my cars already.

Sounds like your vet is doing a great job. Its a good sign that he's still alive. Most dogs that ingest antifreeze and are treated right away live.

It really depends on the dog, but as for being alive after 3 days, that is good!
However, only the vet who is treating the dog can really give you an honest answer to this question.

If you got your dog to the vet really quickly after he ingested the antifreeze, and if he didn't take in too much, he should be fine. If he were going to develop kidney failure it happens within 3 days, so hopefully, our dog will be ok.

That really depends on the kidneys. If you got it in time and the crystals haven't formed in the kidneys then yes that is a great sign. It isn't over yet so, please don't get your hopes up too high. Sometimes the kidneys don't show how much damage there is right away. Good Luck and I will say a prayer for you and your dog.

by technique of the time the dogs shows indicators of eating, that's too overdue. the most acceptable way (and in user-friendly words way) to be sure in the adventure that your chum's dogs died from antifreeze is to have a necropsy executed. some thing else is merely guesswork and does no one any strong.

it sounds like it will turn out good. I would think something would have happened by now, if it was going to turn out bad. At least he's at the vet getting the care he needs, he will be ok. Just be thankful you noticed as soon as you did

I would say that if you are still worried, your mind wont be at ease unless you get him checked out. even if you drop by the vet, sans pooch, and ask what they think... you could get a med and some free advice instead of paying a parger bill for them to look at him and find he's ok :)
