Dogs pee when excited and scared, Its common especially in puppies that are new and trying to find out there place in your family. Mostly she could have had a very dominate, loud male person around her as a baby. This to her signifies that males are the dominant leader. In the wild and instinctually puppies show there submissiveness to a larger, more powerful animal, by laying down, wagging there tails or putting it between there legs, and trickling urine, somtimes doing it on the tail and splashing it around. The dog if very submissive will get on her back and expose her belly. This is common and once she figures out where she belongs in your family she probably wont continue to do it. There isnt anything wrong with her. Shes just very submissive. try getting males to come and talk to her outside the home and show they mean her no dis-respect.

She may have been abused in another home before you got her, probably by a male. My 4 year old chihuahua mix had a problem with submissive urination when I first got him. Anytime he thought he was in trouble or if you walked up to him quickly, he would cower down and pee. You just need to constantly reassure her. The more comfortable she is around men, the less likely she will do that. Try just petting her as a man approaches. Reassure her that she's okay and that he's not going to hurt her. Maybe get him to pet her as well (if she doesn't show any agression). Over time, she'll become more comfortable and stop the submissive urination. As far as when she's scared, you need to figure out what she's scared of and gradually help her to overcome that as well.

The safer and more secure a dog feels, the less likely he/she will exhibit fearful behavior.

that is a domestic dog element, although some under no circumstances outgrow it. My 4yo dogs nonetheless does it if I enable her get too excited. I purely thoroughly ignore about her till she is calm. If she receives excited at the same time as i ultimately do puppy her, I walk away. once you do ultimately mind-set your domestic dog, make advantageous that is outdoors, so he can pee outdoors, it ought to finally end up to be a good burglary device, as you may praise for peeing outdoors. If he's particularly timid round you, id propose sitting on the floor outdoors for somewhat once you get homestead, and toss treats to him. Dont check out him or confer with him or something, purely purely toss him treats so he begins associating you with good issues.

It's more than just fear. Dogs have many traits that they still carry from their wild cousins, wolves. Dogs will also urinate when paying homage to their alpha. It's a sign of respect. It sounds like your little girl is a super submissive dog. My male Akita is almost 3 years old and he's a super submissive as well. I have many frustrated days when I'd like to give him back to the rescue he came from, but I love the guy and I just have to have a lot of patience with him. He still urinates ocassionally if he gets too excited when we're playing. He thinks he's paying me a compliment. You can try to take her to classes that help you boost her self-esteem which will help her control herself. I know it sounds silly, but it will help. Good luck.

Sounds like a piddler to me! My golden retriever piddled when she got excited, scared, or super happy. She eventually grew out of it. It's just a reaction, a reflex. Dont' punish her for it because it may get worse. Just learn to predict it and keep her calm in a situation that may cause stress. She'll learn to look to you for comfort and guidance will learn to relax.

In a stressfull situation try putting her in down and keeping her there. My English Setter is very antsy and barks a very high pitched bark. Now when she gets upset she groans then lays down right way. It relaxes her.

Once your cattle dog becomes stressed she will learn to lay instead of piddle.

Good Luck

One of my dogs did that a couple times ...to my brother. I looked it up, and it also has to do with submission. I think she was instantly more submissive with my brother because he has a deep voice. Now she just falls down and rolls on her back for a scratch. She's a very submissive dog. Everyone loves her. She's a boxer.

Because she is scared. A lot of animals do it. I think they are so concerned by whatever is frightening them that they just lose control of their bladder.
