I just got my new pup 2 days ago. She is eating puppy chow dry (1 cup) and nutro puppy wet food (1/2 pouch) at night. It isn't the same food the breeder was giving her. Did I cause her stool to be bloody? She has been de-wormed according to the paperwork.
I have also been rewarding her with Authority Doggie treats. (Not whole pieces)
She seems happy and eats alot. She has had over a dozen bowl movements in the past few days, this is the first one that was runny and was accompanied by blood. She goes to the vet on Saturday. Am I safe to wait it out and watch her??

Take that dog to the vet, NOW!

Are you sure the "blood" isn't red dye from her food?
Bloody BMs are not normal.

Never change a dogs food abruptly. It can cause bloody stool.Always do it gradually by adding a little of the new food to the original. However blood in the stool could mean many things i would not second guess this problem.I would do a walk-in to the vet A.S.A.P. If you can gather a stool specimen into an old container If the Dr. can't see the pup immediately maybe someone tthere can view the specimen and give you a clue if there is a problem other than the change in food.Good luck !!!!!!

take her in ASAP. if she hasnt had her first set of shots (which for proper vaccination should be given at 8 weeks) it could very well be Parvo. The change in food could cause diarrhea but shouldnt cause bloody stool. Take her in so the vet can check and see what is wrong. It could also be giardia which wouldnt be treated by dewormers. Do not wait because if it is Parvo Saturday will be way too late to treat her or will cost a fortune. By that time she would probably be severly dehydrated and will be put on IV fluids with rounds of injections to help the diarrhea and vomiting. The sooner she is seen the better for her health and your wallet. Hopefully it will just be Giardia but if it is Parvo it can stay in the environment for up to 6 months. The vet will tell you how to treat the yard if it is parvo. Good luck and I hope things go okay

She has loose bloody stools from changing her food. Put her back on the food her breeder was feeding her. Call her breeder. You can't change a puppies food at that age. Any time you change a dog's food, you need to do so GRADUALLY. Especially for puppies.

It could be, but she could also have an internal parasite like giardia or coccidia. I would call your vet and ask them, especially because small breed puppies go downhill fast.
