What works best is if you kennel the puppy in a little kennel while your gone. A puppy will usually not "litter" where they sleep. Also, you need to feed the puppy and THEN take them outside immediately. A puppy will usually almost go "potty" right after eating. Can you get someone to take her outside while your at work? 8 hours is a longggggg time for a puppy to hold itself. Can you run home at lunch, that is what I do.

Dogs, especially puppies, should not be left alone for 8 hours a day. Puppies are like babies in that they are not yet fully developed, so they are not able to control their bowels. If someone is not there with her all day, eventually, not only will she continue to use the house as a toilet, she may also become very destructive. You need to find a friend, family member or neighbour to take care of her while you're at work. Perhaps, too, you could contact some organizations for seniors. They might be able to find an older person who lives in your neighbourhood, who is healthy enough to take your dog out for a walk and she in turn, would be good company for them. You really can't leave her alone all day. Find her a human companion and I'm sure she will learn much quicker, not to use your house as her "squat spot" !

First of all, i know it wasnt your choice to have a puppy in the first place. But hey, any kind person would know that u shouldnt leave ur dog home alone without company for more than eight hours. Your dog is getting restless without a companion. She poos so that she can get attention. Its quite true. You should leave her with a sitter and after work u can pick her up. Maybe a friend could volunteer. There is a spray you can buy that helps to make the dogs poop in a certain area. You should try it. Enquire at ur local vet or RSPCA.

Have you tried newspaper? I trained mine with newspaper and it got the hang of it pretty easily. When you lock it up while at work put newspaper one one side and his bed stuff on the other. Most likely he'll use the newspaper. He might get use to using it and decide to go on there from now on. Mine did. Oh and when you take it out to use the rest room put some newspaper out there too.

I would suggest fencing in your yard or buying a dog lot to keep her in during the day. Just make sure she has a doghouse and plenty of blankets, and you can let her in when you get home. For while you are home, you could train her to ring a bell when you want to go out. Just hang a bell on the doorknob and teach her that when the bell is rung, the door is opened.
Good Luck!!

Unfortunatley pups have tiny bladders and need to pass feces every few hours.
Most pups will toilet train in their own time, start teaching your pup and one day it will just click to her. May take one week may take 3 months unfortunalty they are hard work!
You can try teaching to use litter, reward her everytime she does it in the correct place make a massive deal of her and she will eventually get the rght idea.

You need a crate...Dogs usually dont pee or poop where they sleep or where they are denning...Crate training is really the only thing you can do, or have someone come over a few times while you are at work and let her out...8hrs is a LONG time to have to hold it

You are leaving your dog too long. A puppy cannot go that long so either have someone come home at lunch to take her out or you are going to have to litter train her like a cat.
