I don't know why my dog, Bart, likes going for walks so much. Everytime I get out his chain he gets happy, and all we do is go around the block the same direction everytime. Does anyone know why dogs like going on walks so much?

It's a change of scenery for him. Think about how it would be if the only place you ever got to go in your life was inside your house or in your backyard, but once in a while you got to go walk around the block.
Also, dogs are very interested in scents and the great outdoors gives him a lot more stuff to smell than the familiar stuff inside your house and even in your back yard.
Another thing, many families don't join their dogs in the back yard so that is not that great, but with a walk, a family member actually gets out and spends some time with him. (Not saying that's how it is with you, but it is with many families.).

Because dogs are social creatures and everytime they go outside of their regular home, they have the opportunity to experience different things....even if you take him on the same route everyday, the scents/traces from other dogs/animals or even other people are detectable...even experiencing the shrubs and plants are a treat. Your dog (just like most) simply loves to socialize in that way and experience as much of the world as possible :)

Because he's a normal dog. All dogs love to go for walks, and most are happier if they can run around without a leash. You probably can't do that, but I'm sure your dog would LOVE you if you could take him for longer walks, and maybe even run a little bit.

Dogs like going on walks because it helps them calm down and gives them lots of fresh air!So, it's good for them

dogs feel happy when they exerxise and after too. dogs need regular walks and he probably likes all the smells and exciting things. dogs arent like humans we get bored with things but dog s can find something new each time.

He is your dog he probably enjoys excercise because he is a good boy. He also probably enjoys spending time with you if you are his buddy. Be good to him and take him new places sometimes. Just be careful because hot black top can burn his paws. If you have a dog you have a friend for life be thankful.

Well all dogs like to walk. It's usaul. Your dogs ok. He's not out of shape. It's like how people always want to get out and do stuff.

It is natural for a dog to travel. They are natural travelers in the wild as they hunt, explore and mark territories.

He likes to get out of the house. He likes the exercise. He enjoys the surroundings.

well, Bart likes to meet new dogs, get out into the world, he doesn't like to be secluded in one, small place. no living creature likes that.
