Toy puppies should be kept with their parents to 12 weeks
Seven weeks, and not two pounds
The breeder was not a good breed, a good breed would will still have the puppy
I would take her the the vet asap
Talk to the vet.
Take care of your puppy

Hi this is a designer dog not a real breed, the size will depend upon the genetic make up of both parents, at about 7 weeks you shouldnt really have the dog yet, but even so at that age the weight sounds about correct, Maltese are always very tiny as are good Yorkies, but I do suspect that they are not quality parents so you will see some probems for the future.
WE can supply good info on the Maltese breed via our site

We have the best world-wide info on all bichons available , this may be beneficial for you.

To begin with Yorkies and Maltese never get over 9 pounds and that is heavy......I have two Maltese and one weighed 1 pound at seven weeks and the other weighed two pounds at eight weeks when I got him....It depends on how large the parents are too.

That weight is about normal. Just make sure he/she is eating good and drinking enough water. Don't give him/her any milk.

The pup should not shed. BUT he/she will have very long fur. My Maltese are groomed every five weeks. I keep their fur in a puppy cut because I don't want it to grow to the floor as those breeds do. I comb them daily.

My dogs are not fat. They have fresh dried dog food set out 24/7 for them along with fresh water that I change at least 2-3 times per day. DO NOT use plastic bowls. Use stainless steel or stoneware. The reason is bacteria will build up in the plastic and make a dog very sick. Then I feed them Ceasar wet food daily. They love it. It comes in a puppy flavor also. At your dog's age they ate half a container in the a.m. and half in the p.m.
Now I add table scraps to their food too. They have toast/jam in the morning.
They are healthy, happy and very intelligent. Good Luck with your new puppy.

That could be about right for such a young puppy, especially if the Yorkie part is one of the tea cups. If your puppy is playful and eating well, it's probably fine. You should take it to the vet anyway for its first check up and see what the vet tells you about where the puppy's weight should be. My shih tzu puppy wasn't much bigger than that at that age and the vet said it was normal for its breed class. Since our puppies are in the same group, yours is most likely normal too.

I don't know how hairy they get but you can always get a puppy cut from a groomer once the hair grows out if you don't want to deal with long hair.

Enjoy your puppy:)

that's fine I had a yorkie and she was a bit bigger than that!! Also my Yorkie was full grown!! what you have would be the NEW type of Yorkie!! The TEACUP YORKIE!!!!! Some grow hair past they're feet, and some don't grow past they're tail. Mine didn't grow hair past her tail so it's all cool. Whoever told you your dog is to tiny is WRONG!!!!

JUSt don't let her outside by herself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine got KILLED!!!!!! By the HUGE dog next door, otherwise she was perfect!!!!!!!!

My yorkie is currently 3 months and weighs 2 lbs. He bounces back and forth betw. 1.8 and 2.3 lbs. The vet told us taht as long as hes healthy and not showing any signs of health issues than not to fret over his weight. Their adult weight all depends on breed line. My little guy is expected to be betw. 3-4 lbs. They will get hairy..i think thats where all his weight it. :) Make sure you keep the eyes and face clear of lots of hair..it gets matted. Also, keep their eyes clean. Good luck and take care. She should be fine..just keep an eye on her. She'll get bigger as time goes on.

That is about right for your "Morkie" my sister has one and when she her at 8 weeks, she was just at 2 lbs. Just make sure she's eating properly, and go to your local pet store and get something called NutriCal. That is a nutrient vitamin suppliment that is in a toothpaste tube that you can give her almost anytime.

although this puppy should still be with her mother the weight sounds about right. i would definitely contact a vet asap due to the lack of information provided to you by the breeder. i would hold off on giving your new baby any type of vitamins or supplements until speaking to the vet. at this age there stomachs are still small and too much of something could make her sick.good luck to you both

At that age my mother's morkie (maltese/yorkie) was only 2lb 2oz and now at nearly a year she is about 6lb, maybe. she will have long hair if you let her. Moxie is fisty and thinks she is top dog.

okay, ive had 2 yorkshier terrier matleses, the one full grown was I believe 23lbs at her heaviest but normally 17lbs.

now my puppy is only 8lbs and she's I believe 6 months!! so she's starting to get heavier.
yours is really really light but at 7 weeks maybe that is normal....call a vet...they'll tell you and give you advice for weight gain if she's under.
