Female dog, she is about 5 months old. And the last week or so she wont stop jumping on the table or jumping up grabbing my food, digging holes, trying to escape etc. What is her problem? Is this normal with dogs? She is absolutely terrible, and whenever she is bad we punish her by putting her in the cage, but once i let her out she just does something new now. What oh what can I do I am going out of my mind?

"Man is the most dangerous, destructive, selfish, and unethical animal on earth."
--Michael W. Fox, vice president, Humane Society of the United States, as quoted in Robert James
Bidinotto, "Animal Rights: A New Species of Egalitarianism," The Intellectual Activist, September 14, 1983, p. 3.
"Humans have grown like a cancer. We're the biggest blight on the face of the earth."
--Ingrid Newkirk, national director, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PeTA), as quoted
in Reader's Digest, June, 1990.

"Humans are exploiters and destroyers, self-appointed world autocrats around whom the universe seems to revolve."
--Sydney Singer, director, the Good Shepherd Foundation, "The Neediest of All Animals," The Animals Agenda, Vol. 10, No. 5 (June 1990), p. 50.

"If you haven't given voluntary human extinction much thought before, the idea of a world with no people in it may seemstrange. But, if you give it a chance, I think you might agree that the extinction of Homo sapiens would mean survival for millions, if not billions, of Earth-dwelling species ... Phasing out the human race will solve every problem on earth, social and environmental."
--"Les U. Knight" (pseudonum), "Voluntary Human
Extinction," Wild Earth, Vol. 1, No. 2, (Summer 1991), p. 72.

In a perfect world, animals would be free to live their lives to the fullest: raising their young, enjoying their native environments, and following their natural instincts. However, domesticated dogs and cats cannot survive "free" in our concrete jungles, so we must take as good care of them as possible. People with the time, money, love, and patience to make a lifetime commitment to an animal can make an enormous difference by adopting from shelters or rescuing animals from a perilous life on the street. But it is also important to stop manufacturing "pets," thereby perpetuating a class of animals forced to rely on humans to survive."
-PETA pamphlet, Companion Animals: Pets or Prisoners?
"I don’t use the word "pet." I think it’s speciesist language. I prefer "companion animal." For one thing, we would no longer allow breeding. People could not create different breeds. There would be no pet shops. If people had companion animals in their homes, those animals would have to be refugees from the animal shelters and the streets. You would have a protective relationship with them just as you would with an orphaned child. But as the surplus of cats and dogs (artificially engineered by centuries of forced breeding) declined, eventually companion animals would be phased out, and we would return to a more symbiotic relationship – enjoyment at a distance."
-Ingrid Newkirk, PETA vice-president, quoted in The Harper's Forum Book, Jack Hitt, ed., 1989, p.223.
"It is time we demand an end to the misguided and abusive concept of animal ownership. The first step on this long, but just, road would be ending the concept of pet ownership."
-Elliot Katz, President, In Defense of Animals, "In Defense of Animals," Spring 1997

His tail wags because he wants to play, but he is too hyper and scares other dogs. Its not aggression, thats not the problem. I want him to get along with other dogs and play so he gets comfortable around them and calm. Help?

I had a pit-bull/lab mix dog. She was so beautiful and she was the sweetest dog I have ever known. She loved everybody. We took her to get spayed, she was barely 2 years old, and she developed renal failure. I decided it would be best if my boyfriend and I were with her when they had to put her down. I didn't want her to be alone, her death was inevitable, so we agreed to have her put down so she would suffer no more. Well, we watched, and held her while she died. I have never cried so hard in my life. Now, I can not sleep without a light on, and her death keeps repeating over and over in my head. It wont go away. Please, does anybody have advice? This is killing me. I loved her so much.....

I live in a beautiful rural area in Oregon. I am in the county but only a short distance to town. For three years I have suffered because of a neighbor that lets his dogs bark all day and night. It has made me a sick man. I am 65 years old, retired after working 50 years with a small retirement.
He is a man in his 30's, living with a woman also with dogs.
He is not working, trying to get on a disability. So he is home all day and night. He chain saws all day saturday and sunday.
I have contacted animal control so many times, and he has been warned and warned, but this last week the duputy came to my home, and said he would take steps. He did, and gave them a citation. They can and probably will take me to court to disprove my allegations. I have video of the dogs in my yard, and also barking. Today , the day after they were given the citation, they have been angry, and making noise and letting their dogs run free in my yard. What would you do ?

Ok, i have thought about clicker training my 14 week old puppy, and I noticed you can buy them for like $2. Is it because the batteries die so easily? Where can I buy one(in a store, not online)? What is some pros and cons about them? Or any iformation you can give me.

Thanks
♥ A ♥

On the dog shows on TV dogs look like their in thin metal choke chains. It looks like a collar that might give a lot of control over the dog as the handler seems to be lifting the dog's head with the leash and collar while the judge looks him over. My dog weighs about 40 pounds, and I wonder if this would be a good collar for working with him.
