I have a border collie too.we were at one point thinking about letting her have a litter. but after a trip to the dogs trust we didn't want to anymore. they had more border collies than any other breed.
they are extremely cute as puppies (even later), but they are a lot of work as I'm sure you know. most people who want one don't though.then after 6 month-1year they notice that their dog still behaves like a little puppy, all bouncy. and then they decide they don't want them anymore! Sad really.

Here is something to think about.
Please explain to me why people refuse to fix their pets!?
I understand that there are a few reputable breeders out there who are breeding to better the breed an offer high quality pets to good families.
But, why, when it costs between $41 and $51 to have the dogs fixed, why wouldn't they? Do people not understand that it is healthier for the animal? Why, why, why???!!!
Spaying a female before they reach 18 months old decreases their chance of getting breast cancer by 100%. The risk of prostate cancer and enlargement is likely to occur in 80% of male dogs who are not neutered . So by saying there is no medical reason for fixing a dog, proves to me that too many people are just plain ignorant!
Answer:
If they understood the crisis of overpopulation of pets they would. If they saw firsthand the millions of cats and dogs that are killed each year in the USA alone because there are not enough homes, they might. If they saw the tears of the shelter workers who have to kill these innocent animals, even as puppies and kittens, they might.
If they witnessed the thousands of dead animal carcasses sitting on the floors of pet food rendering plants, before they are thrown in a rendering machine to be made into pet food, they might.
If they realized how much money is spent on the killing of innocent animals, they might.
If they saw the pain and terror in an animals eyes when it knows it is about to die, because it smells the death behind the door, maybe then they will.
Maybe then.
For the love of dogs, don't breed unless your are a professional breeder in love with your dogs.

whats your reason for wanting to breed her? How old is your Bitsa? The shelters are filled with thousands of unwanted dogs...do we really need more? I know its hard and everybody loves puppies but I feel the responsible thing to do is have both the dogs fixed. Definitely its better for the health of the male to be fixed at any age but also the health of your female will continue to be better, the younger she is that you have her spayed.

No. There is absolutely no reason to breed a mixed breed or pure bred dog to have one litter. Puppies are cute, but they grow into dogs. Dogs that are thrown away because their owners no longer want them, don't take care of them, have no money, had kids, moved away, got sick, the dog peed on stuff, the dog barks, etc. DO NOT contribute to the death of other dogs due to euthanasia because they are unwanted, neglected, abused, etc. In my county alone in a 3 month time period 1200 dogs were surrended to animal control to live in cages until 1. they get adopted, 2 they run out of room and are euthanized or 3. they get euthanized because they have been there too long. Don't contribute to more animals dying because of your selfish need to have a litter of puppies. If you love dogs and love your dog, have her spayed.

For what reason do you want to breed a mixed breed? You wont make any money and you will have to spend quite a bit on vet care. What will you do with the puppies if you cant find them homes? Add to the overcrowded shelters?

NO NO NO NO NO just go to petfinder.com and see how many mixed breeds are just waiting for a loving home. NO NO NO NO don't breed while there are dogs dieing in shelters in pounds. There are wonderful dogs and puppies being put to sleep everyday at pounds and shelters because there are not enough homes especially for mixed breeds.

NO!!!! It is harder to spay her after she has puppies think of all the dogs in the shelter's
that have no home,no love and attention they deserve they need a home too.
example.. why make babys when we can adopt one,2,or 3 and give our love to that person, help that person vs making more kids and being over populated.!!

No No No this drives me insane. Why create more on wanted dogs. And why cause your dog to have a greater chance of getting cancer. If you love your dog and dogs in general do the right thing and get her spade.

No, you should not breed her and need to have her spayed. She is a mixed breed dog and you are wanting to breed her to another mixed breed. Please have them fixed ASAP! The shelter does not need any more mutts.

I wouldn't breed her. I would get her fixed. Did you know that if she is fixed before she is 18 months old, it reduces her chances of getting certain cancers by about 300%?
