I think Cara's right in that most companies I checked with either won't cover an existing condition at all or at a very limited amount (like $50).

I did find some companies though that would pay on something new one year and then consider it pre-existing the next year so that anything that *might* come up in the future would only be paid the one year. You're smart to do your research. We chose Pets Best. Good luck!

I'd imagine if you already know the dog has the condition, then no company will cover it.
