"Man is the most dangerous, destructive, selfish, and unethical animal on earth."

"Humans are exploiters and destroyers, self-appointed world autocrats around whom the universe seems to revolve."

"If you haven't given voluntary human extinction much thought before, the idea of a world with no people in it may seemstrange. But, if you give it a chance, I think you might agree that the extinction of Homo sapiens would mean survival for millions, if not billions, of Earth-dwelling species ... Phasing out the human race will solve every problem on earth, social and environmental."

I don't know about PETA - I know that I don't think a lot of them. Their methods are outlandish, and self serving - aimed at getting attention, more for themselves than for their issues. They talk big.- but, where were they during the animal rescue efforts of Katrina? Why did they make a big act of rescuing some cats and dogs then killing them when they couldn't get them adopted out fast enough and found the cost of their maintance to be too high?
As for the quote: "Man is the most dangerous, destructive, selfish, and unethical animal on earth."
I have to agree. We are the only ones who kill for any reason other than survival. Our acts are frequently irrational. Other species don't lie and they interact with other species in a way which ultimately provides for a balanced survival on earth. Some are hunters, some are hunted and many are both. But greed and fame and monetary gain don't enter into the equation.

God Bless PETA. Sounds like a lot of wisdom. Don't agree with everything by any means, but people are such dolts when it comes to being self centered and not concerned about anything other than what's on TV and their next emotion they will run roughshod over anything. I'm thankful for PETA's work.

well, face it, it's true. Human are the only living things that kill things for fun and for other reasons other than needing them to survive. Humans are the only living things that caused so much damage on earth and hunted other animals to complete extiction. You see, other animals don't kill each other for fun or hunt them to extinction or anything like that. Predators NEED to kill, but they only do it to survive. Humans don't even NEED to eat meat, for god's sake, it only "tastes good", we evolved from APES.

PETA is a farce, they don't care about anything but publicity and getting funds for whatever their cause might actually be.
